Thanks for posting about this, I've been looking for something to allow me to do data modes using my FT-857, some of the other options appear to be very expensive. I've just ordered one from AliExpress, hopefully I'll see it in about 10 days.
Nice! I am using a homebrew box like yours and trying to work FT-8 on 145 / 430 MHz. I can receive well but once QSO started, IC-7000 starts QRH (you can see on waterfall moveing like a snake) perhaps due to the heat of transmission and QSO cannot be continued. Do you have such experience?
Hi Kevin, Thank you for your video. I have a ICOM7000 + U5 link, and I desire to do FT8 with it on 2m band. I hoped to find solutions in your video because I can't RX or TX. Unfortunately, it is not the case. May you give me your wsjt-x settings, to my mind the issue comes from my soft settings. Many thanks Laurent - F1UQP
hello dude. i got one of these boxes. windows talks to the box but the box won't talk to the radio. i suspect it's a driver compatibility issue with windows 10. you mentioned another driver. which driver did you use please?
@@KevinOReillyswl wsjtx, ham radio deluxe. on windows 10. i'm wondering if a have an eath loop problem or something. when i enabe the cts and dtr, when wsjtx trests the civ, it clearly keys the radio over via civ so it's seems to be talking but then it comes back with an error when trying to retrive the frequency from the radio. timout error. hower when the ptt li goes on, one of my monitors on standby turns on.
i also tried my other lead which i used to use all the time, that didn't work either. then i tried it from my macbook with the updated drivers. no luck there either
