In the Army we had a Private yell help, a Drill started singing the Beatles song. I almost died laughing. He was yelling help because he fell into the water on the obstacle course. 🤣
In Marine Corps training, I was scared to death of those water obstacles in BWT. The water looked so deep and I was not yet confident in my swimming abilities. I was told to hop in halfway over the log and screamed “Nonononono” a few times before hitting the water and realizing *Oh, I can stand in this*. Shout out to my boy Murphy for trying to mislead me about how deep it was so I could have that experience lol. Plus they had closed the course a day or two before supposedly due to an alligator that had gotten in…none of this helped my nerves. But you overcome and stuff.
@@kvrma8893 I know, I was just joking. He pushed him because the D.I. knew the recruit needed it. I bet the recruit did better the next time he was in the pool. that whole exchange was to toughen the recruit. I didn't mean to sound like a putz. The D.I. was doing his job.
DIs have their 5 feet rule. It's considered assault if you come within 5 feet of them, so they'll defend themselves. I had a random DI from another platoon follow me around in circles trying to get me to be within 5 feet of him so he could push me.
