I think when you interview an IMG you should also ask their future plans and also like if they want to return to their country after a few years. also I would like to know your future plans Is it good if we work in the us for around 5 to 7 years and return to India.

@@kookie-rd6pe Not at all. If you're an IMG, then even your med school grades would not be considered. This comment is regarding medical residency in the US, don't know about UK.

@@abhik8259I have one supplementary exam (like i am with the main batch only but passed my first year on second attempt exam that is taken after 2 months of main exam). So no lost year. Will it practically affect my chances of matching into Dr or any competitive specialities? Thank you in advance.

Hey Manik. I want to ask you about future of a IMG after completing residency. I've watched your previous videos and I know that after completing residency an IMG will get a full-time job on H1-B visa. But my Question is about Permanent Residency (Greencard). Few of my cousins are in IT sector in USA and when I asked them about Permanent Residency, the told me that Greencard waiting time for Indian-born persons is very long. Do medical professional also have same waiting time as of other sectors or do they get any relaxation for the same. Looking forward for your reply.

@@manikmadaan Are physicians eligible for EB-1 greencard ? As per my knowledge, they are not. Because USCIS had clearly mentioned *"Outstanding Professor and Scientists"* For the eligibility criteria for EB-1 greencard. Please clarify.

@@PranayBrajabashi Coming back to India depends on various factors and person's choice. I'm explaining some of the factors below. (1) *Visa type* The two type of visas are H1-B and J-1, which are issued for residency programs. H1-B visas are issued for 3 years (You can extend your H1-B for 3 more years only a single time). So, if your on H1-B you would have much flexibility than J-1 visa. Because If your on J-1, you'll have to return back to your home country for 2 years, then you'll be eligible to apply for a H1-B. For fellowships there are no H1-B visa, there are only J-1. (2) *Greencard backlog* Greencard backlog for Indian born citizens is the main reason why many Indian doctors are leaving the US. The current greencard waiting time for Indian born citizens is about 50-60 years (I'm not joking). Which is why after few years of working as a full time physicians and making good amount of money many doctors prefer to return back to India.

@@yashrajsingh6813 i was talking to my senior Dr Abhishek Prasad ( MBBS - Calcutta national medical college ) . He passed out from mbbs in 2019 and get his first job in USA in 2022 April ( it takes 2 attempts for him to crack match process ) . He is now in internal medicine residency in Duke hospital 🏥. He tell me that USMLE is very very long process and if he would continue his MD pediatrics in medical college kolkata , till today ...he would be in his final year of residency. So he suggested me not to come to USA for money aspect as a JR . It's not satisfactory . He tell me that we can come to USA after doing MD and we can directly join as a consultant in USA .

Sir has Russian medical degree been made ineligible for usmle. Currently. As I am a 3 rd year student in Russia I was planning to give usmle 10 months later.
