As a neutral football fan, I think that, of course, the US was disappointing in the Copa América. However, as far as I'm concerned, the US didn't play badly yesterday. They were beaten by Uruguay, one of the favorites to hoist the cup. When the US was indeed disappointing was against Panama. With all due respect, I think that despite the good level the Central American team has shown during the tournament, the US should've won that game. The US was knocked out by Panama, and that's why Team USA was a failure. First of all, you should beat weaker teams. That's why I have this opinion. Greetings from Argentina.

Average Joe Scally has been one of our best players this tournament. I know he's not Dest but that's what I like about him. He knows that and we gotta stop asking him to be Dest when Joe's consistently good at what he does. Individual brilliance has carried us thus far but this is not a team. These players have no discomfort and no challenge with their current situation in the NT and it shows. Predictable all around, no consequences, no accountability, and that starts with the manager. The funny thing about listening to U.S. analysts is that they don't realize how they sound after being grouped. They keep looking down on teams that competed better than them and insist on the "great talent" that their team supposedly has. What they don't know is that they're like the suckers playing poker. When you sit down at the poker table and you can't tell who the sucker is, that means you're the sucker. When the Copa America draw went down, everyone wanted to be in the same group as the U.S. to avoid having Argentina, Brazil or even Mexico as group headliners. This means that Uruguay, Panamá and Bolivia were ecstatic to be in a group with the weakest "top team" out of the 4 groups.

In order for soccer in the United States to develop, it needs to integrate with Latin America. American clubs need to compete in the Libertadores, so the domestic level of the players will improve, the level of competitiveness and the experience in the sport will be shared. The culture of the Libertadores represents the entire American continent, since we were all freed from European colonizers. The Libertadores means liberators, just like those who gave freedom to the United States. In terms of business, it would be great, because it would combine the business capacity of Americans with the culture of South American soccer. Then we would have a product as good and attractive as the UEFA CL. With the right investments, many young players would have the option of playing for clubs in the United States, receiving competitive salaries. Therefore, I think we should make efforts for this integration and leave this "Eurocentrism" behind. Given the current geopolitical situation, it makes more sense for the United States to integrate with Latin America in a healthier and better relationship for everyone.

Greg passes out the participation rewards and the players can feel good about themselves and wear their Rainbow colored jerseys and never upset anyone with any honest answers. If anyone starts to show any edginess send them off the island. US Soccer has always been a bit of a star chamber but now it is completely in line with the Disney’s of the world. If you have any brains you know 2026 is your one big chance to move the needle. I actually believe you have the talent- now go get the guy who can put the fear of God into them or accept being 5th sport in the USA pecking order and making the occasional knockout round your ceiling of expectation. please tell us all how a player getting a red card for stupidity and arrogance is Gregg's fault. Add in Dest' red card too!
@loganmapes2307
@loganmapes2307 19 дней назад
@@ronniethomas8780 gladly since you’re too boneheaded to get it yourself. because Gregg fosters a culture where selfish acts like dest and weah can go unchecked (don’t forget weston leaving the hotel during covid) because he’s buddy buddy with the players and they don’t fear him. A real coach would garner more respect and the players would not act out frequently like they do under Gregg

@@loganmapes2307 I'm not a "get wit", and don't subscribe to mob mentality or pressure of not conforming to this narrative based mentality that's crept into the fanbase, but you're either willfully ignorant or just plain stupid because a players arrogance or selfishness has nothing to do with the coach, that's another narrative/talking point of the Greg detractors. Greg punished McKennie and Dest for their actions, so him fostering that type of culture doesn't align with what he did in the aftermath of said actions. How about have an original thought, be an individual instead of pushing that tired, rehearsed propaganda that's become prevalent in this fanbase!

Lets be honest the goal was offside the TV review showed it. Why was it not given. Yes the US should score goals; however, officials can make or break a match. I have seen some matches where the officials change the out of matches with very bad calls.

@1:05:00 Brian mentions limitations to budget. To be clear here, we are hosting the World Cup in 2 years. The only budgetary limitation we actually have are those imposed by our own USSF board. They've put themselves in a box on this. These are self imposed limitations - and quite frankly not an excuse that any of us want to hear. Maybe the "front office" is the problem here, because they don't want to take risks and be on the chopping block for making risky moves or blowing budgetary numbers. After 2026 WC, what do you think will be a more important take away - 1) that we went out and spent the money to get the coach necessary to put the USMNT in the Best possible situation to have success in 2026, or 2) that we stayed within our budgetary restrictions and should be proud that we saved $1M or $2M to the budget and that it needs to strike a balance with our aspirations? The answer is pretty clear...

If we a lose this must win game, and can’t score a goal, then our players don’t deserve a rating of a 6. Maybe Balo and Scally for being consistent and getting injured?
@PeterBoye-vr3oy
@PeterBoye-vr3oy 19 дней назад
Brian and Chuck giving Musah a 6 is wild to me, his first touch was awful. I feel like every time we had a chance at counter attacking Musah would have a bad touch or bad choice. It might be more a failure on the coaching staff to have three defensive midfielders in a game you have to win.

USMNT needs a change of management, Spaniard or Argentinian with Accademy formation, to look new talent and to follow them to complete their formation in Europe, US soccer managers just don't have enough experience to do the jump that the US soccer needs.

1. 4-4-2 would of caused several problems for Uruguay and the team would have shine. We are currently looking for a number 9. Why not play with 2 to find that. We need to substitute sooner & give the players more opportunities. Why is Aaronson part of the squad and is never used. He brings so much as a sub & could change the game. We are so stuck with Christian & Bologan. They’re not consistent. 2. I think the coach needs to rotate players more often. Especially if the players aren’t playing. Easily and probably the smartest idea would have been to create a starting line up with players who play in the same club for dynamic/chemistry purposes. Reyna shouldn’t have started due to his transfer. Pepi & Tillman play together. Christian & Musah play together. McKennie & Weah play together. Luca & Cardoso play in Spain & similar system. 4-3-3 isn’t the formation for this squad. Pepi is the answer to play more attacking. Dumb to ask him to hold the ball and wait for players. It doesn’t work.

This is a perfect time to find a new manager, the large majority of domestic leagues are on break and a number of good managers are available. And if you were ever going to be able to convince someone to leave a job in Europe it would be much more likely during the summer break. Stop settling, the USWNT brought in Emma Hayes, how can USMNT continue as is, unless they want to just keep the status quo. If they want to grow the sport and expectations, then they have to make a change.

You can tell Brian was not having the criticism of Gregg and the team. Saying things like that being too harsh on Shaq Moore. Brian is a shill and shouldn’t even be on this show. Not sure why Heath still hasn’t been brought back. Shaq got bodied within seconds of coming on by Vinicius vs Brazil and almost gave up a goal. Talking about being the best 1 v 1 defender 😂

Expectations of reaching the semi’s!!!? Is he serious? This is the Copa America with the best teams in South America competing, not CONCACAF nations league. Also how is the US ranked at 11 by FIFA and Uruguay at 14 and better still, Germany at 16? Losing to Panama despite being a goal up is why you’re out.

McBride is such a company man and mate with the guys on top, so he is NEVER willing to criticize Berhalter and the guys that gave Berhalter the job. Always there to defend whatever Berhalter does. His comments regarding Shaq Moore made zero sense and it all reeked of desperation to defend Berhalter and how he has lead this team. McBride sounds more like a PR man from the federation than a pundit. What is the point of having such a "pundit" at all?

The money and infrastructure has to match the development. We do not develop good Coaches at the top level. The player develop model clearly needs to go up a level. There should be a pool of Coaches overseas learning. I dont read about that anywhere. I am okay with this loss because we would continue to do things the wrong way. American Coaches are not ready(only one was ready, and he is Coaching Canada🤔)
