The USS Alligator wrecked off the Florida Keys 200 years ago but the namesake lighthouse has been guarding a secret: the wreck there may not be the USS Alligator. Thanks to: National Archives and Records Administration US Navy, Naval History and Heritage Command and Jack Fishman.
