I heard you talk trash abt my lag 3, and was kinda sad it's not getting its love. It's guns for me are the easiest to aim and it's decent at turning. Just gotta know what to do in what situation
I remember back when I first discovered the MiG-3-15 BK, and boy was it a beautiful day. I got the airspawn, realized it was an Interceptor and not a Fighter, then just climbed. I understood the B&Z capabilities of the BK almost immediately, and man is that plane fun! Plus having all those 12.7's and the brrrrt they produce with a small volume of fire. Nice and centralized. The BK is my favorite Rank II Russian plane by far
@@JetJeb5648 La-5 got a hefty punch due to the cannon, but MiG-3-15 if a lot of fun! I fully agree with @Oofboi967 I got exactly the same feeling about the plane!
I got so hyped seeing your IL-2 gameplay that I jumped right back in it and... Let's say I got devasted... Not only i got killed by a tank in a convoy line, but also I felt so hopeless against enemy planes, they just get behind and I don't know what to do to evade them! It's very slow to turn for me.. Anyways great video and keep up the amazing work! Want to see more of this!!
You need to keep it in the horizontal with flat turns. Dont go into the vertical too much. Maybe you were still stock? once you spade it, it will go better.

The 12.7mm Berezin gun is so good. You might think the Yak-1B is under gunned with 1 x 20mm and 1 x 12.7mm but you can easily get 3 or 4 kills just using the machine gun. You only really need 10 - 15 rounds to bring down an enemy.
Not sure if someone commented this already but there are some Yak's that do get WEP at the higher BRs. I know that the Yak 9U, 3U, 3 VK 107, and 9UT all have it, I believe they have the same upgraded engines. It means that these Yaks actually perform pretty well even at higher alts while still maintaining that high speed on the deck. The 9U in particular at 4.3 BR is quite strong (which is reflected in that repair cost), I think you'll like it.
Not done with the video yet but I have to say that you're videos are very helpful, I watched your P-40-E-1 video(even though it's a bit old by Internet standards) and I improved my performance in it (well I did try to out turn i-16 type 10s in it which went about as well as you'd expect). I went from being bullied by everything to gaming on mustangs in a full up tier (I play arcade and I am planning on staying in rank 2 for now). I already have a few planes I have a slight interest in so I hope they'll end up being good. I kinda like my 2.3 br line up with the p40,i16 type 10 and that other plane you get from the Russian beginner pack that has a name I can't be bothered to memorise. Thanks for the tips and your beginner friendly explanations Edit: if it seems like my writing reads like a point list instead of flowing forgive me I have always struggled with these sorts of things, speaking and writing things in a flowing manner have always taken me more effort than normal
pe2 are the best at tank rb (at 3.7) due to the size of the bombs. You dont have to be as precise as with the smaller bombs. Also i find them maneuverabile enough. Later replaced by Tu2s in a higher br. As air superiority (ground rb) i prefer yaks, yak 3 for example. la 5 good aswell. Air cobras good because 50 cals.
I got your message but to repeat: cool, I'm still a newbie - people like me have to be cultivated, reason being if we loose interest then WT will suffer - I really enjoy it and am amazed at what you can do do --- keep it up and be kind to us newbs (even though I'm 78 and flew on and fixed RC-121D - fyi those are props (Connie's) and the first AWACs. FYI - I am now the proud owner of IL-2 (both), MIG-3-15 and La 5.
I love the Mig 3 with ShVAKS ! So much fire power and energy retention in this thing, I can put the nose slightly down to speed up to 600 kmh and keep this speed in level flight, I outrun every enemy fighter, even the He100 rocket, but not P38. The ShVAKS totally obliterates bombers and fighters with short burst. Even if i am a beginner, i take so much fun in this thing. The Mig is not a forgiving plane, but very awarding when you do the things the right way, which is perfect for learning for me.
@@jengar6258 Last time I played this plane, i managed to kill two spitfires in 2v1 by baiting them at high altitude where this lady performs so well ! Back in the days Mig 3 15 was at br1.7, but now all Mig 3 are at br2.3 and I think this is perfect battle rating for this plane, because killing biplanes in a plane capable of 600 kph is like committing war crimes, 2.3 is way more competitive for this plane.
@@ryanbarron5696 the one 50 doesn’t quite hit like it used to with the lower tier bombers though, but I’m sure it can still chase them. Just less effective afterwards as a fighter
i’m not trying to be a angry customer or anything, but can there be a american tier 2 and 3 video? i want some guides on those planes as a beginner, thanks!
hmmm for tier 2 I simply grind thorough the mig line because they are necessary to progress to to later migs. the IL line has to be grind through to progress as well. Although im not particularly interested in that role, I did suspect thats the branch where the sukhois are gonna be (which i was proven wrong XD)

I did really well with the LaGG-3-8. You just have to keep your speed and dont even think about turn fighting, especially with those biplanes. I just let them make the first turn and drain their energy, then climb away, come back and boom them. That 20mm cannon is unfair for those planes. I blew the wing and tail off of one of them with on shot. I only did one mission in EC with it. Had a 5 kill sortie and finished the mission with 8 kills. I actually felt really bad about it, and moved on to the next tier. Got enough SL and Exp from that mission to unlock 3 more planes.

Wonderful video, and each plane discussion is also a great tutorial for basic air combat manoeuvres. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Russian planes - except the mighty IL-2 which is one of my favourite planes in the game. To my mind lower tier Russian fighters aren't very forgiving IMHO and generally outclassed by their competitors. I fight against them a lot and find little difficulty dealing with them. The I-16s however are a barrel of fun! For new players - AVOID THE LAGGs. Terrible planes and easily outclassed by everything else.
Good question mate, i started with the plane to do it tier wise. So i started to do five rank I's. This was too much low tier in one go for me, so i changed to nationwise. and sweden was released back then. After that the ppl voted ;) and US wasnt voted for so far.
Pe-2s are probably decent for Ground Forces CAS. Dive break + bomb sight with four 250kg drops. I do the same with the Ar-2 at 2.3, though I never used the Pe-2s :)
I LOVE flying the PE-2 and PE-3 but agree that it is an exercise in futility. The BR is too high. Russian guns seem to be almost as ping sensitive as Hispanos, as well.
Depends what you want, suprise - Stealth, most damage - Air targets or another heavy FI-T belt. Going after ground targets - a belt with lots of AP rounds, like ground targets belt. Start learning the belt compositions.
Looking forward to rank 3/4, I’ve used the ITP to get up to rank 4’s beginning so after the ITP stops being effective I’ll have to use a rank 4 to grind the jets.
@@jengar6258 yea a bit too late of warning, learned that the hard way, also i have switched to the mig line and iam now on the i225, pretty good experience so far
The Pe-3 is really bad. Maybe it was better before, but as of 2024, it gets chewed up by anything with more than 2 machineguns, and it flies like a brick. Not fun at all to use.
Basically all of the Italian prop fighters are stellar, all the C.20_s, Re.200_s, and G.55s especially so. The Italian air tree has one of the highest concentrations of good/fun planes of any tree. :)
Hello! Great videos. Can you, please, pronounce Russian surnames correctly? I'm talking about the word stress. L*A*vochkin, Ber*E*zin. You can check google translate for the words you are not sure about and just listen the right Russian pronunciation there. Thanks!
