Probably the strongest 8.0 Mixed pair in the Mid Atlantic play a regular league match. They start off the first set with a strong 6-2. The opponents start to fight back in the 2nd set before they finish them off 7-5.
Interesting match. Huge serves in this game, yet most folks are barely able to return. The points last three shots at most including the service. Maybe racquet/string technology has warped things so much .
better than a lot of 9.0 teams. Contrary to some opinions, the women are not that bad. The guy's serves were difficult to handle for sure, but they did ok for being that intimidated. I was a captain of a 4.0 women's team that did pretty well. These women would have been strong 4.0 players for women. And the guys were obviously pretty good. Great serves, and as mentioned, the purple shirt guy had some good moves. Apparently they are weak compared to "Texas" but last time I looked at national rankings, Texas was not among the perennial winning teams. Mid Atlantic does pretty well. These guys would do well in any 8.0 league in the country.
I bet the man with purple shirt played for a D1 college when he was younger. He looks way too strong to be a 4.5 (I assume he was 4.5 because it's USTA 8.0 mixed, 5.0/3.0 can't play in that league, plus his partner is more like a 4.0 than a 3.0 anyway)
Haha, it was a joke. Everyone online thinks everyone is worse then they actually are. Purple shirt is a very good 5.0 and wins most of his mixed matches.
