A complete artist. Great depth. 'tehrav'. Clarity even in high speed. Talent in making own compositions. Command over both tantkari and gayki ang. Above all a humble human being. Why can't our government give a Padma vibushan award to such a great artist?

First of all many thanks for this precious upload.Really classical music is in great heights specially sitar vadan is alive through this great rendition. Ustad Irshad khan apart from other sitarists of his gharana like his own uncle,father,brother nishat shahid and b.mukharji,the way in which he renders especially jod and jhala is some how his own style and creation and his control over the strings is marvellous. i hope more recordings of irshad khan and also ohters will be uploaded in future .
Irshad Khan was my very first sitar concert in 1991. The tabla player was Ibrahim Khan. I met a top student of my soon after to become my guru, Dr. Rajan Sachdeva. A couple years later Rajan introduced me to Sujaat Khan, and Zakir Husain backstage at a performance.
