This concert was one of the most magical nights I had in Calcutta. This is an exquisite Ragashree, played by Ustad Vilayat Khan, and his son, Ustad Shujaat Khan, The concert is from Friday,November 12, 1976, held at Kalamandir in Kolkata. Tabla accompaniment was by Ustad Aslam Khan. Much thanks to Raju Asokan for this .

Has anyone played better Rageshree than this ever?

pace of alap is little fast, without an interval that disturb dignity of raga. ustadji invent so many things in sitar and improved its capacity to prolong note to express gayaki ang that is not properly expressed here in the beginning.it ok not to play lowest scale but uvk never played lower scale mandra sapatak in proper lanthi is the greatest missing part of his performance. at many place tune is not maintained properly but even then uvk is uncomparable king of sitar.
