मुझे नहीं पता कि मैं कितनी बार इस गजल को सुन चुका हूं मगर जब भी मैं इस गजल को सुनता हूं खो जाता हूं। मीर साहिब जो दर्द शब्दों में बयां करना चाहते है उस दर्द को मेंहदी हसन साहिब अपनी गायकी से दिलो जां में उतार देते है। कहां और क्यों चले जाते हैं ऐसे शायर और ऐसे गायक!! आप जहां भी हों, खुश हों!

when i listened the para of this ghazal" bethnay kon day ha phir us ko jo teray astan say uthta hay" it reminds me that when any powerful/feroon kick out any of a person who disordered his order then no one gives him shelter like Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif has refused to further obey the order of strong Army of Paksitan being the prime minister of Pakistan and now he is in exile in London because army has made wrong cases against him.
simply the best singer . he got the biggest award of nepal. shsh of nepal aluted him after giving him award.and ninteen gun firr salute to him after arrival at katmandoo air port nepal..there is a ustad mehdi hasan khan road in rajhistan india as a tribute to him.

In fact, the great Khan Saab's illustrious career spanning over almost six decades will testify to his abilities as an exceptional exponent of ghazal gayiki. To be very honest, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was instrumental in bringing in a paradigm shift in the traditional style of ghazal gayiki by applying his midas touch making it more refined, soothing, soulful, lively, lyrical and worth-listening. In doing so, he had maintained absolute control over Labz, Sur, Taal, and Loy all along and had never ever compromised on purity of ragas. Perhaps, the great Mehdi Hassan Saab was the most prolific improvisation artist in the History Of Ghazal Gayiki! @@amarendraborah6941 You are right dear and i am impressed with your rich knowledge about music i am just a student of music and I love sir Mehdi Hasan saheb then Malika Noor Jahan Muhammad Rafi,Lata jee and Ashok Kumar. one thing is to be noted that i listened many singers who tried to copy mehdi hasan and noor jahan but they fell far away. however many voices fell near to rafi saheb, lata jee and ashok kumar and for that reason i am most lover of mehdi hasan and noor jahan because copying them is not easy for any one
You are terribly mistaken in your assessment ! The great Muhammad Rafi Saab and Latajee are as great as the great Mehdi Hassan Saab ! One should have that much pragmatism and magnanimity to accept the reality by calling the spade a spade ! Both Rafi Saab and Latajee are great in their own right, in their own individual way, in the respective genres of music ! Propriety demands that one should have that much pragmatism and magnanimity to accept the reality by calling the spade a spade ! Singers of the caliber and brilliance of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, Muhammad Rafi Saab, and Latajee are born only once in a millennium '!
I think you must varify what Great Rafi Shahab, Great Lata Jee, Gulam Ali, Great Nawshad sb, Great Noor Jahan Jee and other Great Singers said about Greatest Mehdi Hasan Sb !
