The University of Texas at Austin announced layoffs of about 60 employees who worked in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, in compliance with Senate Bill 17, which banned DEI initiatives at public colleges and universities in Texas effective January 2024.

I'd suggest you go and look up the meaning of the program. Diversity Equity and Inclusion... Nowhere in the name does it say there's "no need for you to be qualified, just as long as you're Hispanic." Lol. Smh Diversity. EQUITY (which means equal). and Inclusion. "The goal of diversity and inclusion is generally to help create an environment in which people of all backgrounds or cultures can feel comfortable and work together effectively." One day you'll come to recognize the necessity of these programs. If not you then maybe your children, etc. Did you know it also includes the disabled? God bless you.

Imagine how blacks and women felt when white males had default affirmative action because blacks and women were automatically discriminated against and either could not get jobs they were educated for or were paid far less. Didn't think about it that way, did you? Was affirmative action also reversed or cancelled? I graduated with 4.3 GPA. I've had a tutoring business since I was 12. At the time, I volunteered at our local food bank since I was 10, played the violin and was in track. I scored 1400 on SAT. One would think including myself that I'd get my choice of colleges. But because I'm 80% Caucasian and 20% Asian, nobody gave me anything despite my years of hard work. But many got in with full scholarships with 80% less than my accomplishments. But it's all good. I own a successful company. Loosing all those scholarships made me work harder. But it's still unfair that others with 2.1 GPA got full scholarships. DEI - didn't earn it.

When my daughter went to MSU, she was in a dorm, where 8 girls shared a bathroom. The other 7 were all black, and all 7 got free rides. A cousin, took a pipe fitter test, when they were going to accept 100 of the people who took the test. He scored the highest score, out of all applicants. He wasn't hired. All 100 were black. A little bit of googling will show otherwise. Texas is ~12% black and University of Texas is 4.5%. Granted, it looks like white students are underrepresented, but the only overrepresented minority in the figures I found were Asians.

If you get student loan, it will take you decades to pay it off, because only $50 of your $500-800 per month repayment goes to your amount owe, the rest is interest. Don't get student loan.

Evidently you never got an education. All loans are mostly interested in the beginning. The more you pay, the more that goes to the principal and the less that goes to interest. Mortgages work the same way.
