The president of UT Austin announced a major staffing shake-up as a result of a new state law banning "diversity, equity and inclusion" programs on campus. FOX 7 Austin also learned employees will be losing their jobs.

The DEI employees let go are going to have trouble getting a real job. Most places aren't interested in Lesbian Dance Theory or Gender Studies degrees.

I'm Asian (was a grad student a long time ago). She is just trying to drag Asians for their own good. No Asians want DEI. Affirmative action lawsuit clearly showed it was used to suppress Asian students on campus. No Asians claimed to have Asian quota in college varsity sports.

There are a lot of students from Africa. I think she refers to these. For instance, 50% of Harvard students were from overseas countries (usually upper class in their country). Affirmative action/DEI benefits these foreign students.

@@user-uskxnfiw729 so even though Harvard has super duper DEI initiatives they couldn’t find enough minority or LGBTQ Americans so instead of filling the remaining spots with Americans they filled them with random immigrants based on skin color. Seems like they discriminated against people based on being Americans and being white. What does the I stand for in DEI?

Sure, there's going to be a bit of an adjustment to a different person, but I don't see how this is a big deal. 1:33 It's going to leave you as a student at one of the most highly regarded universities in the nation. @@ropedb I wouldn’t actually know, even as a Caucasian myself I grew in a single parent house hold with three sister and was homeless for a few weeks before entering grammar school. I’m told at length though by my liberal commie neighbors that there’s a mythical well spring of wealth and confidence and opportunity constantly being shoved in my face; and even if I’ve worked my way into an “actually has to pay taxes” tax bracket that my efforts were not my own.

Texas -Ex who graduated in the 90s speaking, I sure as heck had no privileges while there. Worked my rear end off to graduate and pay off those loans.
