Congrats John. Massive effort to keep going for over 10 hours in pain. It shows how fast you are capable of going with every person who passed you when you slowed.
Thanks for filming John! Hopefully pushing on like that doesn't cause you any further setbacks. It was good to see the start of the race and the turnaround point at the top of the hill, so I could see myself 😀I haven't seen other fotage of those areas. I'm running Tarawera 102 too. Are you running that race or the miler? I ran out of fluid going down to CP3 like you did. I found that the long stretches of firetrail road to be relentless because in the most part there wasn't anything that you shouldn't be running. It was also a bit frustrating because when you were going down a nice downhill stretch you knew that you would need to go back up it at some point. It was a race where I couldn't stop craving water. My quad injury reared it's head about 30k's in and I was feeling tired from that point on.
