The liver is the only organ in the body that can use a living donar. Donating a piece of your liver, if a healthy match can liter save the life of another. A healthy liver in most cases is Regenerative. Yes donation is painful, requires time to heal, as well as loss of time and wages. However being a donor can save the life of another, and someone else's loved one who means everything to them. Please consider living organ donation. It's not for everyone, or every situation. And for those curious, I'm not just running my mouth. I've done it. It was painful, emotional, hard, and one of the best things I've done.
This is amazing! Gratefully my husband received his new liver 10 years ago this September. The donor had a brain aneurysm and died instantly. The liver made it in barely with in the time allowed. He had several complications due to that factor and several other issues and procedures. He's been very blessed and we're so very very grateful to all involved in the transplant teams and everyone everywhere!
I used to work with patients in end stage kidney disease. Your 2nd or 3rd or even 5th, kidney transplant is easy to get. Especially if you use the same transplant center. The reason is, that the transplant staff, MD, RN, social workers will know you; you've a proven track record of being a compliant patient, with everything from the surgery, medications and follow-up visits. You have proved you can take care of a new kidney. Unfortunately the disease process that took your original kiney will probably take you transplanted organ. Transplant is the only way many of these patients can extend their lives. Ive witnessed a kidney teansplant, it truely is a miracle of modern medicine. Congratulations! Good luck to you with your new liver!
They don't take organs without permission from the family or the patient who died, and a lot of people don't donate. There are a huge number of people who need transplants, and the organs need to match their blood type and other factors in order to be accepted. You can't just put any random person's organs in another person. Most people aren't a match.
You know what? More than one organ? Who are all the people these organs are coming from??? This is what I would like to know!!! Seriously!!! Are they stealing these from alive people or what???
Everything freaking thing has some nefarious undertones to you people. You think you are getting all the information about this in a YT short ? If you have questions, go read an actual article about it.
People who died! Good lord. Organs come from people who either chose to donate their organs before they died (they choose this before death, and the organs are taken AFTER they die of an injury or illness,) or whose family members chose to donate their organs after they died. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't choose to donate. That's why it's such a long wait to get a lifesaving organ.
