I've had this mouse for several years now, and its going STRONG. I play it with Final Fantasy XIV and having the 12 buttons on the side is great. One thing not mentioned in the review is that the mouse can store its settings internally - meaning if you switch your device the keybindings are still retained and no need to re-configure the mouse at all. At it's age it is starting to show a bit of looseness on its scroll wheel making weapon switching in an FPS tricky, but its been almost 5 years of constant use, and its only started happening lately. The build quality is very good in that regard.
how about the macro software? is it as smooth as corsair ? ive tried red dragon macro, and it is bad, i have to wait long time every time i edit my macro
I just got into ffxiv and I bought this to make more use of movements and casting without having to stretch my hand across the keyboard. Playing whm now, is it easy to set up all hotbars via the mini buttons on the side?
I'm not a gamer but the mouse I use with 12 buttons is ideal for regular computing because with those buttons I can scroll line by line, I zoom in and out, I increase and reduce the volume, page up and page down, Straight top page or bottom page, print screen, mute, ESC...etc. Your mind and fingers get used to it and it's second nature to use all those buttons. Great review.
Try using AHK... I have browser forward, back, copy, paste, ctrl, shift, volume up and down on a customized log-scale, print screen, undo, playpause, next track, scroll sideways and instant google selected text all on my mouse. On a 2nd number pad keyboard I have dedicated buttons for multiple e-mails, google drives, printing current date in 3 formats, logging selected text to file, speeding up YT videos to a custom speed even beyond 2x. I also have system wide macros like hold right click while scrolling to scroll faster, scroll on toolbar to change volume on a log scale, automatic screen dimmer for my laptop that dims the screen when I don't touch it and increases brightness again when I do and more...
I'm not much of a gamer but I have the wireless version of this mouse and it is fantastic. My favorite feature for general use is the "fire" button by the left click button which I have bound to my clipboard manager so I can access my clipboard and copy/paste without having to hold my normal shortcut for that (ctrl + ` and using arrow keys to scroll through). It's a small feature which is so, so helpful.
Thanks for the review. I was on the fence about this mouse but I decided to buy it. I can't use my left hand so a mouse with more buttons is always better in my book
It should be noted that you cannot unbind the 12 number buttons from the keyboard. So they cannot be "mouse 4-18", meaning they cannot be independent buttons. They have to be set to a button or button combination on the keyboard. That was pretty disappointing because it is marketed as fully customizable.
you def can but he is saying they correspond with the number buttons on the KB ( not number pad ) but they can be configured in game and in other software like photoshop etc etc @@jesseedean297
I will be honest. I’ve had this mouse (wireless edition) for over a month and today I decided to return it.Looks amazing, feels amazing, the RGBs are on point, worked great for the first 2 weeks. I bought it mainly to play WOW. After 2 weeks, the keybinds started to mix themselves. The only one complaint I have when it comes to the design is the speed bottoms on top, you will accidentally touch them mannnny times, because of the elevated texture it has.
I have had this mouse since around July and it is my favorite mouse for divinity OS 2, Baldur's Gate 3 and games like that. I just map the actions to the side buttons and I don't have to go pick them then come back up to the enemy I want.
Those 12 buttons come in handy if you are playing simulator games and MMOs, my SWOTOR Razor mouse has been amazing! Looking to replace it because the scroll wheel click finally died X_X
I just bought this Venus mouse and it feels awesome. Moves great, feels good in my hand. I just need to learn how to program the side keys. The guide is not that helpful. And I play WoW. I need to figure out with the 4th button is the kill button and I have key binds so I need to program it how to kill Alliance on the spot, and mythic+. I did notice that I do not have those weights in that ....can.... it was empty holes. Meh...lol. New sub.
Tho you said this mouse is better at first person shooter game , i don’t think it’s not for me. Because I don’t mainly play FPS games. I play grindy simulators then FPS ( grindy as in dont have time to play FPS ( seriously I haven’t in days , feel like not gonna play for a week ))( it’s a big lost for me because I like shooter games and my aim can drop really fast)( simulators are just too addictive) Would you still recommend this mouse? Even With the grindy simulators I play. Or i keep using My M808 red dragon mouse
Mine last me 4 years longer than my Razer Naga. the sidebutton layout is better. Also, you didn't mention that it has a built in rapidfire/doubleclick button right next to the left click.
You're probably getting more kills through geared confidence. Imagine going into a fun fight with a squrt gun, no armor, compared to going in with a outfitted automatic with body armor and tactical rigging. The mouse makes you feel more superior than to your average foe.
I dont agree about the editing i work a lot in PS/LR/PR and have all the buttons set to hotkeys for them all and its amazing and no issues on normal windows tasks at all ( i have the wireless ver of this mouse ) it has lasted me a pretty long time actually
Hey is the msi optix mag322cqr quad hd 32" curved gaming monitor - black just as good as this one I do like this one cause it has hight adjustment I want it for the ps5 but will it do everything the asus tuf gaming does in terms of the 120 and all that?🙏🏽 please help me and respond be so helpful please please🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
MMORPGs are all over the marketing for the mouse, hence the reason for 12 buttons on the side. definitely best mouse i've used, only used wired version. i ordered a Redragon 12 button mouse thinking Utech was some sort of subsidiary of Redragon, because the mouse design looked exactly alike, besides the tiny logo at bottom end. then it came and I realized just how much shittier the Reddragon mouse was compared to Utech- the weight, feel & texture of Utech mouse is just so superior
I love your content but if I may provide some constructive criticism, one small thing I noticed since the very first video I watched. On your intros you could introduce yourself with your name; for example: “This is Nick” or “I’m Steve from Consumer Tech Review”. It would make you seem more engaged with your audience on a personal level and your subscribers can feel like we know you more. Kinda like “Ed from Tech Source” or “Random FrankP” if you know what I mean.
This mouse is horrible. It lags in wireless mode and now it won't work at all, with the drivers installed. I wish I looked into it more. It might be a Windows 11 thing but either way, it's trash.
