Bought a 2020 Ranger 1000 this past year. What an upgrade from an 08 sportsman X2. Plowed our first snow storm that was 15”. Waited till it was all done and said we’re gonna see what sees made off. What an awesome machine. Tackled it with ease. Love the Polaris pro snow plow system. I made 5’-6’ piles. Definitely two thumbs up.

Video started with a cam am ad! Lol plan on ordering my north star in a week or two. Debating which package and add ons. Headache rack with winch for loading deer for sure. Taller the box gets the harder time I’m having loading deer

Hey just so you know. The air-conditioning does not work in hot areas. My family and I purchased one to use in Arizona. I made a video on my family's polaris horror story. I have been buying new polaris for over 20 years.

Great video on a great machine but you do have a few specs wrong. The suspension travel on the Ultimate is 10" not 11" This is due to having 29" tires instead of the 27" tires. The MB Quart stereo shown is an option and not standard on any unit. The NS Ultimate does come with the stereo in the Ride Command and 2 speakers installed in the lower dash. They are however a MUCH higher quality speaker than the ones you get when you buy the normal MB Quart dash mounted radio. Great unit mine is scheduled to arrive sometime in January.

Could you please give us your perspective of the difference on the cab noise level under throttle between this machine and the Can Am Defender Limited.

Its really noisy. There is really no insulation besides the thin plastic boxes under the back seat that are right next to the engine. I made a video on my family's polaris horror story.

Did they fix the A/C??? Heard several ppl say the A/C on the Polaris sucks and won’t keep the cab cool on a hot ride. The videos never seem to list any cons of the vehicles they “review”

I have the 2020 ultimate, and the AC was awesome on 90 degree days. I had a host of other issues, but loved the AC.

For a strictly utility vehicle, I think this is great but I can't imagine all the added electronics and mechanics would last long if you're using it mostly for off-road recreation. I feel features like the power windows would slip off their tracks and jam up after a few good bumps through the chassis. Particularly if a passenger is in the process of rolling theirs up or down when you hit that bump in the "road"

How plush is suspension compared to defender

I think their suspensions are set up similarly. I think it would take a side-x-side comparison to really feel any noticeable difference. The real deal is that both these models need premium shock packages with adjustability. For the Polaris, we would love to see some variation of DYNAMIX perhaps with more focus on compensating for load and driver/passenger weight instead of performance like the RZR. My guess is Polaris is already working on something like this.

Is the can am or polaris more quiet? Do you notice a noise difference while driving at 30-35 mph? Thanks

@@paulheier The can am was quieter and a lot more responsive. I went for all the bells and whistles with the Ranger and might have made a mistake.

@@paulheier I've had 3 rangers and this North Star, the Can Am Defender lone star edition and a Kubota with a cab. All were nice but at least I am dry and the dogs ride in the back seat again. The Kubota was a fine machine but was a bench seat and no where for the dogs. The Can Am was the roomiest and fastest one with a ton of storage, some removable.

I agree totally. These things are meant to be driven roughly over rough terrain. All those extra bells and whistles are only something else to give out, and end up costing you money. I need a sxs that's able to handle the terrain, and is relatively comfortable. If I wanted all the rest of those electronics I'd buy a damn Jeep.

I purchased a new polaris northstar for my family and I to use in the Arizona desert. Big mistake the air-conditioning system does not work in hot climates. The system is not big enough to overcome the heat from all the glass and engine heat that comes up thru the thin plastic floor. I made a video on my family's polaris horror story. I have been buying new polaris for over 20 years. Polaris instead of fixing the problem said in a email that the air-conditioning system does not work like a car air conditioning system. but they advertise it as automobile airconditioning system. four season motorsports and polaris ripped my family off. As you can see if you do any kind of search on poaris fires. They dont listen or fix problems customers have with their vehicles. government just fined them 27 million dollars.

Well. I've watched this and the defender comparison vid. And no offense but I felt like it's more of a sales pitch for polaris. ( I own a polaris general ride command deluxe). No offense. My "beef" with these two comparisons is simple. They did not prove a thing of use. As an owner I can say my interest would be in a test with interior cab noise. Via decibel meter. A temperature test. Heater on a 20 degree day ac on in the 80s. Fuel tank capacity could be mentioned. So could the EPS features " but polaris has none" Also your "premium " buyer idea is off. These sell great in Northern me. Due to climate not because we are all wealthy. And NOBODY has been happy with polaris quality. I'm on my THIRD clutch... just my rant....

Better fit and finish? No way lmao. After sitting in one back to back with a defender limited, the polaris is definitely still far behind. It has lots of cool gadgets, but it definitely isn’t as good of build quality as the can am

I bought a 2019 Northstar. The biggest piece of junk that I have ever owned. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. The primary clutch went bad ( a known problem), Polaris doesn't stand behind it. They leave the considerable expense to their customers. Both front cv boots were messed up within the first 6 months. There isn't any kind of protection for them. The rear suspension broke. Now at 3 years old the window mechanism is broken. I almost never use it. It is used on a small farm and has low hours. I will never buy anything from Polaris again. I have always owned Yamahas. I regret trying something else !
