UTV Storage - Rigid vs Dewalt - Dust and Waterproof Tool Boxes 

The Ozark 26 cooler (WalMart) will fit in front of this box and Kemimoto makes a mount specifically for that cooler that works with the Polaris lock and ride system. For you CanAm guys buy a Polaris and it will fit : )

Both are great boxes but I use the Dewalt in the back of my Rzr 1000 XP. I keep tools and repair supplies in box. I use the clamping system to attach the matching shallower ( 5” I think) box on top of the first box. I keep recovery gear in the top box. I think the Dewalt box is stronger construction than the Rigid and the latches are more robust. The side handles on the Dewalt are a big plus for securing box without strapping across the top of the box. The Dewalt box has an external reenforcement flange around the perimeter of the box. To get the box to set flat in the bed of my Rzr I trimmed off about 1/4” of that flange on both sides. Since both the Dewalt and the Rigid are the same 21” outside width, the external flange on the Dewalt results in the inside width being about an inch smaller than the Rigid. I haven’t had any water infiltration issues with the Dewalt that another person mentioned.

The ridgid is the more quality box. Better latches, better material, and seal. The dewalt may seem more user friendly but they're brittle and cant be submerged and dont even seal well against rain. You will get water intrusion. I returned all of mine and went back to my ridgid boxes.

Just got the same ridgid box a few weeks ago. Been on 2 rides with it, works great strapped down in the back. Also great in pouring rain, which I tested this weekend.

Ridgid for the win! You're going to have to buy something extra to tie it down anyways. Love the locking system and stackable of ridgid. I have the box you showed and a smaller one on top of it. Still Have enough room in back of turbo s to put a 26qt ozark trail cooler( which out cooled all my buddy's yeti coolers at the river). Good video though 👍

There are ways to strap the ridgid down with the connection "handles" on the sides. Like the dewalt handles. I have the ridgid system , but I like that dewalt system too.

I have 2 DeWalt boxes in my RZR. I did build a lock and ride set up.

Love my rigids. Got the big one middle size one . small one. Smaller one with plastic top and the basket. They are awesome couldnt be happiee

I’m ordering the dewalt box now lol. I currently use a soft sided bag but needed something more sturdy and weather proof. Also for a cooler we use a yeti cooler bag works great and doesn’t use much room. And you can ratchet strap it in and still access the cooler.

On the Ridgjd one can open the lid to a flat positiom for a working area or table. Just flip the metal hinge and lay the lid all the way open..

Did you ever find a box and cooler that work together? Curious what you did if so.

I put a large igloo soft cooler inside my tool box with my gear and tools,

I have a "LIFETIME" cooler that would also work for storage, and you can get one for $88.00 plus tax at the LIFETIME outlets. As a cooler, they are much better than the YETI, as they will hold ICE longer.

Has the weather been preventing you guys from getting out and riding too? This rain has been ridiculous up north!

What did you add to the bottom of the box ?

What about metal ammo boxes? I guess it just depends on how many tools you need and the length of the of tools you need. They are watertight, and relatively compact.
