U N A M A N T I A
Una niña aferrada a su mantita,
mantita que la protege cubre y limpia.
Sus rodillas están cochinas y su alma es pura.
La niña no distingue aún entre un vacío y la felicidad,
quizá siente ambos, o quizá la felicidad le provoca un vacío.
Se encuentra inmersa en un mundo en dónde ella es valiente, una figura admirada, le gusta hacer reír a la gente, habla, habla, siempre deja escapar carcajadas que se asoman por sus hoyitos en las mejillas.
Nada la distrajo nunca de su realidad, tanto como un globo de helio de cualquier color yéndose, alejándose y dejándola allí esperanzada, viéndolo menguar sobre las nubes.
Como un sueño, casi liberador, vuelvo atrás, me dirijo a mí sin que nadie me interrumpa, sin que algún ruido me distraiga, me encuentro conmigo y descubro la verdad, mi verdad, logro entender como el grado de sensibilidad, vulnerabilidad, exceso de romántisismo y falta de amor propio me distrae del acto de verme a un espejo, me distrae como algún juguete de cualquier índole, sublimándolo como el más grande de los tesoros y llevo conmigo ese juguete a todo lugar al que ande, como si fuese la manta que cubre mis miedos y los esconde ante cualquier humano.

A little girl that holds her little blanket, which cleans and shelters her.
Her knees are dirty and her soul is pure.
The girl can’t tell between emptiness and happiness yet, maybe she feels both ways, or maybe happiness makes her feel empty.
She finds herself in a world in which she is courageous, and admired.
She likes making people laugh. She talks and talks and laughter pours out of her dimples.
Nothing has ever diverted her from her own reality,
quite like a balloon of any color floating away and leaving her hopeful,
fading away over the clouds.
Like in an unshackling dream, I go back and face myself, uninterrupted by any sound or presence.
I meet myself and uncover the truth: My truth.
I get to understand how my sensibility, vulnerability, and lack of self-love keep me from looking in a mirror.
It distracts me like a toy, and guarding it as the greatest of treasures,
I take it everywhere I go, as if it were the shroud that covers my fears and hides them from everybody else.
