I've been with NI since Komplete 5. I've had Quadra-Traveler and Percussion Factory for a little bit, but just got into UVI in a bigger way with Falcon. Would love love love love for UVI to make more and more of their products NKS-compatible. I can easily imagine it would push UVI's business forward.
I got into UVI in 2023 and their sound quality is amazing. I have the S61 Mark 3 and to have these UVI instruments fully functioning on my new controller keyboard is amazing. So inspiring
Thanks Jeff. I saw the NI trailer for this bundle and been scratching my head how to get the NKS versions to show. UVI need to tag the plugins with the NKS logo on their website and in the UVI Portal to show the ones that are compatible. Just taken delivery of the Kontrol S61 Mk3 keyboard today and will christen it this weekend with the Emulation II+ bundle knocking out some Depeche Mode songs. Hope UVI Vintage Vault 5 (hopefully coming very soon) will have more NKS compatible instruments and Falcon gets updated soon. And also hoping the Korg Legacy Collection also goes NKS.
@@jefgibbons It certainly is. Worth it for the drumulator alone. Had Vintage Vault 4 since release and many of the other synths untouched as I can't get passed Emulation II+ and Beatbox Anthology 2. As my Emax2 is getting temperamental I would like to see this in the next iteration. Have fun playing.
I like to see developers going over to NKS. I love my KK board. Hopefully UVI commits more of its instruments in the future. Too bad this is KK v3 only. NI is a long way off from getting me to update from 2.X.
As ever, great demo Jeff. Just got my S88 MK3 and I did not know about the UVI deal until last week. It was a deal too good to pass up for what the bundle comes with, plus NKS support! Like you, it took a moment to get the installation sorted, especially since I found that I had to get some clarity on finding the NKS installers. I dig how expansive the sound quality truly is. What a deal, what fun!
I don't get to buy much but I jumped on this deal. So glad I did. I'm also glad you covered how to get that NKS working because I couldn't figure it out. I remember seeing some vague instructions on how to do it on the landing page after checkout but then it disappeared forever. I had no idea I needed to go over to UVI portal to find it, let alone dig around in each instrument. Ur's a lifesaver. If you were to cover some of these in future videos, I wouldn't be mad at ya. I better go check to see if you already did!
Ok you sold me, I bought it. And then came back for nks instructions because it's not on either of their websites :/ i'm all in at this point on the komplete ecosystem, driven mainly by the keyboard integration, so i guess i may as well max that out. helpful content as always. thanks!
Based on your gaming note, I know it’s probably overkill for what you tend to do, but if your curious on having super accurate emulation on the retro sounds, do check out Plogue’s VSTs if you haven’t.
Great sounds for sure, Jeff. Regardless, thanks for the quick review as I am definitely going to have fun with this one. I wish all third parties would integrate NKS for their sounds (wishful thinking). :)
I was in the middle of a trial month with UVI SonicPass when this deal was announced. Although I would have preferred to have kept Falcon, I decided that owning these vsts was better than throwing away a years membership worth of money and owning nothing.
@nsp932 when I typed that I knew I should have qualified it. I paid for a month, so it was my own trial not a free trial. They had a deal on the year subscription and I wanted to see if it was worth it.
Morning! It’s a step in the right direction. Downside is it’s only supported in KK software v3 and up, so no KK mkI controller support. I already have most freelance soundlabs NKS packs anyway for UVI vintage vault, Falcon and many other VSTs, so thankfully I already had NKS support.
UPDATE --- disregard this post --- see my post below this one showing how I made my UVI product show up in KK, on my Mac and on my S88 Mk2. I have an S88 Mk2. I guess I am not surprised that KK on my S88 doesn't show anything from UVI, but... why doesn't KK on my MAC show it? It is fully updated (so is my Quadra:M/H). Does KK know I have a Mk2 and therefore won't show it on my Mac as well as in my S88?
UPDATE - after seeing an explanation on the UVI site, I went into the UVI Portal, went to my Quadra:Muted/Harmonics product, found the 'NKS Installer', and ran it. It now runs in my Komplete Kontrol and is showing on my S88 Mk2. You don't HAVE to have Mk3 to make it work. You just have to update your UVI product with this NKS Installer. Note - NKS compatibility is thus far only for the eleven (11) products in the UVI Select bundle. But you don't have to own the whole bundle to make individual products within this last work.
@@jefgibbonsthe guy who does those - I believe he’s based in NZ. Analog lab was I think my first addition since that’s not NKS, then Omnisphere, Roland Cloud and so on. They all appear under user presets and have the preset audition too. I think for UVI it’ll take a while for Falcon, but he already has that is up to v3 (I bought the v2 I recall and 2.5 and 3 were free updates). Edit: his stuff also supports NKS 2 as well as original NKS so the mkIII KK controller is supported too
Man, I missed this sale because I was saving up for the S49 MK3, and now that I have it, I desperately want these plugins. Does anyone here have any idea if this might come back? It’s like they all disappeared!
Jeff, are these full versions of the products? Synth Anthology by itself is $149, Augmented Orchistra is $299. Getting these plus more for $199 (US) is an AMAZING deal!
Yes. Full products. And all for a huge discount. And some of the titles might entitle you to a discount when they release the next version of Vintage Vault.
Thanks again for more and more great heads-ups and information. See my post below on how I got Quadra:Muted/Harmonics working in KK and on my S88, even though it's 'just' a Mk2! LoFo
