"Stu, What are you doing?" "lighting up the night." "It's four o'clock in the morning, why on earth are you lighting up the night?" "I lost control of my city"
"Raul, what are you doing?" "Making rock operas." "It's mid to late 2010. Why on earth are you making rock operas?" "Because there's no heroes left man."
Even years after the event, I find myself coming back to this video frequently. Something about the sense of camaraderie, tied with the lyrics and meaning of the original song, is deeply compelling. Or maybe I’m just a weirdo. Love you, /v/. Come back to us.
I don't blame /pol/. They are a symptom, not the cause. The cause is that all the creative posters left or got forced out for various reasons (such as overractive moderators only concerned with keeping things "on-topic" deleting all the good threads) leaving only the raw unfiltered trash that had always been there but now is all that remains. That is what happened on /tg/ in any case, don't know much about the history of other boards.
I like to think that this was their motivational song of triumph during their fight against reddit in the Tribes:Ascend battles. 3-2 never forget the day /v/ kicked ass at 140 ping.
Reddit: "Let's create a finely-tuned near-perfect team to dominate Tribes:Ascend." 4chan: "Hey, any of you bitch ass cucks ever play this game?" ....and then they won.
@@gadellomagnollo1810 would make sense as to why the media depicts them as evil, because when you see something ugly in the mirror you want to get rid of it
"Stu, what are you doing?" "Saving my city..." "It's four o'clock in the morning, why on earth are you saving the city?" "Because there's no more pudding."
I only discovered The Protomen about a year ago. But I've only discovered this last month and I am incredibly jealous I was involved. You guys did a stella job. I wish I could arrange something like this to show The Protomen love.
Progression of a recent music discovery journey I have had: This -> The original version of this song -> The Protomen -> Protomen/TWRP crossover -> TWRP -> TWRP/Ninja Sex Party crossover -> Ninja Sex Party. It has been a wild ride.
It's not /letter/, /v/ is the video game board on 4chan, /a/ is the anime board etc etc. Just a bunch of people from those boards got together and made these.
megahellreaper I’m aware of what they are, but I’m assuming there’s more than just a /v/, /a/ board on 4chan? so I’m just generalizing it by putting /letter/, thank you for the explanation though
"Stu, what are you doing?" "Singing Protomen with a 4chan board." "It's 4 in the morning! Why in the world are you singing Protomen with a 4chan board?" "Because THIS CITY'S SLEEPING LIKE A SOLDIER TRAPPED INSIDE OF AN IRON LUNG"
