Just finished successfully fitting my Cobra slip-on and FI2000R. I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this video. As a mechanical novice who is new to bikes I wouldn't have had a hope just with the instructions provided by Cobra. Your video made all the difference between failure and success.

Great video. I did this same mod. You don’t need to loosen the acorn nuts. I did the entire mod in 10 minutes! Also didn’t need the fuel mgmt system. Sounds awesome.

Thanks so much for this video! My bike was a little bit different (2013 1300) as the cover for the O2 sensor wasn't the same. But I needed help identifying and disconnecting the connectors and my tuner was a bit different (Cobra PowerPro) and I wasn't the person who installed the tuner. Glad you mentioned the clips that held the connectors together. I had to disconnect the tuner from the stock O2 harness as I had my ECU reprogramed by Ivan's Motorcycle shop as the tuner has to be disconnected after the ECU is reprogramed to make the bike run at it's best. Hope everything Ivan and other riders say about his reprograming is true and my bike is smoother to operate. Thanks again!

You should add a note for your viewers, "Instal bracket to muffler first: bracket to frame last! your welcome.

Thank you for posting the video. A suggestion that made my cobra slip on REALLY easy, install the exhaust bracket to the Cobra slip on first, keeping those short bolts loose. After slipping the muffler on, then install and tighten the bigger bolts that hold the bracket to the frame. Then tighten all the bolts. Thanks again.

Thank you Matthew for a complete video from start to finish. i did the same mods to 2007 Yamaha v star 1300 tour. cobras info is on there products are little miss understanding about closed loop and the word carb means California bikes only .Tanks for clearing that up for me. And adjusting the pod on the fuel management on a ride.

I believe whether the system hooks up to O2 or not, it will bypass it and will allow you to override or tune the air fuel mix. You will not damage your bike. Go for it.

Great video man,I just bought a 2009 vulcan 2000 classic LT,it had cobra exhaust and k&n air filter, bad news is it looks like the owner took off the cobra fi2000 before he sold it,because the velcro is still on the bike,we're it used to go,so it's lean as hell,lots of popping,just sucks it have to go buy another one.

Try the first pot on the left. Increase it by 1-1.5 and see if that helps. Do you have any hesitation on acc?

Good video dude. I'm getting some popping on deceleration, especially in 3rd and 4th gear. That should be the middle POT correct?

To give a little wiggle room for the new slip on. It gives you the ability to align everything .

No need to loosen the pipes ,it slips right on it takes 10 minuts to change and remember to install the bracket to the Cobra first it is much easier👍😀

That is going to be a tough call. You can always see how it runs. They are pretty lean from the factory to begin with.

Is the 08 VStar different from the 07? I just got my fuel tuner and it only has 2 plugs vs your 4 plugs. Just curious.

Hello Matthew. Great informative video. Just bought an 09 Yamaha vstar 950 w/9k on the miles. It came with the cobra exhaust upgraded by previous owner. I am wondering why I get some popping and backfire noises when I drive it. I think it may be they didn't do the FMS. Would this cause these issues?

The LEDs. At first all on and after started should all turn off except the green. If all turn off or all remain on they say it is the wrong connection to either injectors. But mine has LEDs that turn on and off. The yellow and the red. It runs rich and doesn't idle. Makes black smoke. Changing the pot settings doesn't do nothing and also disconnecting it doesn't change anything. Could it be faulty?

Hey you and me our neighbors on these crappy infamous pot hole roads of the motorcity. I could tell before you even passed the tan striped and red brick bldg along the lake shore. Your video was great! I just bought my Vstar 950 and low and bohold but whats under the seat is a FI2000 R box I was geeked. The bike has a bit of back fire so your video will help alot. Say where do you buy your standard parts cheap like plugs etc?

How old was that bike with the rotting hoses I Thing he was a rain rider and never used a air hose to blow out the on the under carriage so the water sat and rotted the lines.

Taking the whole tank off is a lot easier, but just make sure you are aware of the two vacuum hoses on the left front of the tank. Pinch them, and you will possibly make that tank implode (visualize taking your half helmet and bashing that into the tank on top). www.douglascs.com/Serine/tank.jpg It's a good idea to check those hoses anyway, as they can dry and pinch. I had to remove about 3 inches of one of the hoses on mine. it was dry and was flattening. it's supposed to remain round. (that isn't my tank, but one just like the bike he's working on. it's a 1300 v star.

The one with the O2 hookup is for the hippie cali bikes.

Hey so my Fi2000R didn't come with the connectors to the O2 sensor. The instructions say that the bike will run in it's default open loop fuel mode allowing the Fi2000R to take full advantage of its tuning abilities. Will this damage my V Star by not using the O2 sensor?

Matthew I have a 2008 raider that has a FI 2000 on it that I just bought and it gets horrible fuel milage but run good my setting are 8-10-9 any ideas what my be the problem thanks

which model of Vstar was this for exactly as I did not hear it mentioned. Was the Fi2000 that standard or closed loop. Can you explain the difference between the models?

You don't really have to loosen those. Acorn nuts at the cylinder heads I too just recently installed my Cobra Slipon on XVS 1300 midnight Star Much easier to attach the plate to the slipon before you install it to the bike
