Thank you for this video. Surprisingly there are not many other videos out there as basic and thoroughly explained like this. There are many "valve adjustment" videos but not for thus motor. Very helpful!

His really helped in the operation I hunted high and low for the inspection cap and as you said the front ones are not easy it’s amazing how much you have to remove to do a simple job thanks again this video was excellent

"WHY DOES THE 2005 KFX 700 TWIN SHOW DIFFERENT SPECS THAN THIS ? • Then, turn the crankshaft counterclockwise with a wrench on the alternator rotor bolt until “T-R” mark on the alternator rotor aligns with the notch as shown on the housing the end of the compression stroke in the rear cylinder head. • Measure the clearance for all four valves, one at a time between the end of the valve stem and the adjusting screw with the thickness gauge. Valve Clearance (when cold) Exhaust: 0.20 ~ 0.25 mm (0.0079 ~ 0.0098 in.) Inlet: 0.10 ~ 0.15 mm (0.0039 ~ 0.0059 in.) If the valve clearance is not correct, adjust it • Hold the adjusting screw from turning and tighten the locknut to the specified torque. Torque - Valve Adjusting Screw Locknuts: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 104 in·lb)

great video.. I rotated my engine opposite with my finger over plug hole till I felt compression then check mark TR. adjusted my valves. then rotated same way till I felt compression and the marks lined up TF and adjusted valves. why do you rotate engine different ways? I see you rotated to the left adjusted rear then rotated right adjusted front. why? thanks.

If he kept going counter clockwise he’d have to have gone further. That’s just one way to do it to make sure your where you need to be. You can keep going counter clockwise till you see the intake valves come down and then look for the mark. Just a different way to do it.

I am getting my butt kicked with one of these...a 2004 700 Kawa V-twin. It ran good, just hard to start cold. I adjusted the valves following your video and now the engine runs terrible. It is popping thru the carbs and exhaust and bogging down bad. Can just a slight adjustment to these valves cause this to run this bad? I have been working on these all day today. I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide....btw...I am a customer of yours- I have bought some things from you on your online store. thanks..Jason

I was adjusting my valves on my 2005 kawasaki brute force 750 and the exhaust valves were really tight and then I took the cover off and now the springs and valves they are really loose. What could that mean? Do i have to change the head?

I need more details, you can't adjust the valves without taking the cover off so not quite following you. But if you adjusted then rotated the engine and did the other one then checked the first again sounds like you was not on right stroke when you adjusted them

So after you finish adjusting the valves going counter clockwise. You have to go clockwise and put it dead-end center and now you can torn it on?

You don’t have to turn it anyway after you’re done. Just crank it

No, you are only watching the rear to get it on compression stroke, then once you have that the rest is right
