I have been suffering from neck pain since I got up in the morning and after lifting a heavy object. The pain radiates to both upper limbs. Neck pain is common in the smartphone-internet era. What can we do at home for immediate relief? Should I use hot or cold compresses? Which exercises help? How should I massage my neck? Should I apply an ointment or oil? Which foods help reduce neck pain quickly? How should I use a pillow and sit on a chair?

Heat & Cold Therapy: Use hot compresses (hot water bag or towel) for 15-20 minutes to relax muscles, then cold compresses (ice pack) for 10-15 minutes to reduce inflammation. Alternate every 2-3 hours. Watch my detailed video for more information.
Neck Stretches & Exercises: Perform gentle neck stretches and rolls, shoulder rolls, shrugs, and chin tucks. Avoid sudden movements. For detailed exercises, watch my video.
Massage: Self-massage or have someone else massage your neck using circular motions. Use foam rollers or a tennis ball for trigger points. Find the best massager for you.
Herbal Remedies: Use turmeric (curcumin) and ginger (gingerol) for their anti-inflammatory properties. Herbal teas like peppermint, chamomile, ginger tea, or turmeric milk can help reduce pain.
Hydration and Nutrition: Drink plenty of water and consume vitamins, antioxidants, and omega-3s from vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish. Avoid sugary and processed foods.
Essential Oils: Massage with eucalyptus, peppermint, or lavender oils mixed with coconut oil. Inhaling these oils can also help relax muscles.
Pain-Relieving Ointments/Sprays: Use ointments or sprays with menthol, lidocaine, or capsaicin for cooling, numbing, or counter-irritant effects. Learn how to use these in my video.
Reduce Smartphone Usage & Maintain Proper Posture: Follow the 20-20-20 rule, raise your phone to eye level, and use proper chair support and desk height. Watch my video for proper usage and posture techniques.
Right Pillow & Sleeping Posture: Use a thin pillow for back sleepers and a suitable-sized pillow for side sleepers. Avoid sleeping on your belly. Maintain neutral alignment with the right pillow and mattress. I explain this in detail in my video.
