Another great modification video. Only concern would be measuring weight on the mods. I am a bit of a weight fanatic, so I would be concerned that the ties might add weight. Removing the batt cage is a genius idea! I personally would leave the foam off. It saves 70g on this model. I am using an oversized 2800mAh battery. It weighs 78g more than the stock battery. Lengthens flying time by 15 minutes and adds only a few g if you remove the foam housing.

Maybe mine is the same model base unit under a different name, but mine is a Panther, I see someone else down below also has this one. My battery did not last long at all. I bought 2 1000mAh batteries on ebay, one of the best upgrades ever. I also strap it on like that with a rubber band, well, I could only find a hair tie at the time and a piece of shish kabob stick to mount it on lol, but that works great, since the new battery packs where too thick to fit in the stock bracket. I also took off the foam body to help make it lighter for better performance. But I put a heavy duty foam plate over the radio to protect it. Good thing because one time flying it, I went too high and lost signal, once that happens, it seems it is difficult to recover 100%, so it ended up in the neighbors back yard. When I accelerated up to see if I could fly it out of their back yard, it hit the rain gutter. That left a line in the foam plate that was directly over the capacitors on the receiver, which would probably have disabled my machine and I probably would have had to buy a new one. I now have a heavy duty small paper bowl over the receiver, which I drew eyes on it, so it looks better than just a white cover. I have thought about pealing off the plastic cover and strapping it on, similar to joe n's suggestion. I may do that later. I will have to try that aluminum cooling fins and remove those plastic motor covers. Thank you for the idea's.

Hey Hammy, just saw your vid on the cover removal and liked the sink idea. also saw the other heat sink video where the guy uses literal sinks, would you say yours work as well, any thoughts. I'm new to all this, so trying to make my V262 last as long as possible

Don't you worry about moisture or debris damaging the motors with no protection like that? Have you had issues with dust or dirt or residual water or dew from the ground or plants damaging the motors? Other than that these are some pretty good tip!

It came with a faulty camera and we have 3 feet of snow on the ground. I guess my answer, is I have not flown it yet.

"Heat sinks", great idea! I'm presently having a bitching problem of LIFTING or LIFT-OFF. I can go forward, sideways, 1/2 spins and even flips..........BUT IT WON'T LIFT!! Everything seems to be in working order and calibrated but NO LIFT! ANY IDEAS...........besides SLEDGE HAMMERING IT!!!

I have tried to slip a piece of soda can in between holder and motor. I cut up 4 different cans. Too thin it bends. Too thick won't go in. I even tried to open the tap with a tiny screw driver. What is the secret ?

Hey hammy, how long did you motor last before it died? I'm thinking of getting a v262 but seems like every video on youtube says it has motor problems.

If you think that you may crash this guad DO NOT remove the motor covers as seen here this will significantly weaken the motor mounts making them break off even easier than they do with them. The bumpers is what kills the motors its just to heavy. Once U can hover and achieve a decent FWD flight remove the bumpers peal the plastic canopy from the foam ,attach plastic canopy to quad use tape,velcro,silicon what ever works for U Please dont use a soda or water bottle as a canopy as i have seen some do that's just ugly & no one wants to fly ugly. I am trying this on the V666. Different motor holders. Just noticed that. It might not work on the v 666. Have to experiment. Good idea if I can get it solved...

Hi, I replace a motor on my quad copter but the copter is no longer flying the controller still bind fine but It wont fly ..I twisted the wiring instead of soldering,,could this be the problem..??
