This is the first of a very useful series on clavichord tuning, which, for some reason, is not available on the new authenticsound.be/RU-vid/index.html site. Very clearly explained and demonstrated, with slightly non-standard terminology, e.g. "vibrations" rather than "beats".

Thanks, David, and yes, my terminology sounds a bit non-English! I'm rethinking the vlog-part of my channel, less improvised, scripted, better film quality, and so on. I need some time for that. Just a tip: clavichords can be tuned with an electronic tuner, provided you use a pickup microphone. This is the sort of microphone guitar players use to amplify the sound. It only captures mechanical vibrations. This was an advice of my professor Loreto Fernandez Imaz long time ago. When buying the pickup microphone, the cheaper it is, the better, because we do not want it to capture the harmonics. It comes wiith a small piece of putty with which you adhere it temporarily to the sounding board. The putty does not leave any trace afterwards in the sounding board, at least in my case.

Thanks for sharing, Miguel! I'm about to remake some of those older (very first !) videos, today, I'm tuning totally on my ears, except from the pitch, and that is in fact much easier than I would have thought when I just had my clavichord. Thanks for watching !

You're really deep in the history of the channel! I had to check myself, the V stood for 'vlog', so V3 was actually part 1 (yes really logical thinking...), here's part 2 ru-vid.com?o=U&video_id=dovz0fLfxAs, 3 ru-vid.com?o=U&video_id=o3e__FpQtCE and 4 ru-vid.com?o=U&video_id=ByCrDN4s1Wg it is a nice reminder to me how it all started here on youtube...
