Next use a.c. Delco irridium plugs. And change wires. Good for. Next 100.000m. Torque those plugs dog. 10 lb.. And dielectric grease in boots. And.... Take some very fine sand paper and hit the coil towers and wipe. Dielectric grease. And clean cylinder plug holes with thread cleaner. It should really help doing this job right. Imo. Zoom!!!!!!!
You're awesome Jeff. Good information details are important you find ways to make it easy. You work on it and keep making it easier people will like come to hear you!
Thanks Bro! I liked many of your tips...like the carpet on the engine in order to make it comfortable to work on. Will be using the info i learned here on many other projects. Wisdom has been passed on.
Jeff that was awesome 💪Thank you so much for the vid it was excellent , Now in about a month I will buy a Grand Prix GTP May be a ‘98 or ‘06 !!! Thanks again,,,GOD BLESS🙏
Wow, it really works. I got 4 more inches to get the back three out. They were 25 year old original plugs and were stuck on. 102,400 miles. Thank you. 😮
Hats off sir , awesome video very helpful made the wires an plugs so much easier knowing exactly how to tilt the eng using a rachet strap ,thank you sir
For anyone who watches this video a simpler way is to remove 2 bolts on the alternator then loosen the bottom bolt and move the alternator out of the way then you can reach down and change your plugs. Simple.
Was unable to remove the plug boots after hours of trying, '07 Pontiac GP. So I just broke the plugs off. Either hit the metal shields with a large screwdriver or grab the plug shields with a vice grips or pliers and bend the plugs which will break them off leaving the metal threaded parts to be removed with a plug socket. You can blow around the remaining plug to clear any porcelain particles of broken plug. Also remove the coolant overflow tank on the passenger side and get access to the passenger side plug from the side of the engine. AND remove the oxygen sensor in order to get at the drivers side rear plug, of course after rocking the engine forward using a strap or pushing the car forward and blocking the rear tire then setting the parking brake, must still remove the front upper motor mounts. Last but not least I bent the lift bracket on the rear center of the engine forward to increase access. PITA but much easier if you use some quick tricks. I'm hoping new plugs and wires will correct the gargleing or rapid surging (2 per second) while under light throttle at highway speeds.
Dang looks like I get to change my plugs and wires. I've been hoping to find just this. I need to change my wires and plugs can I do them at the same time like one at a time?
I feel these back plugs were meant to be done from underneath a shop lift jack so you can access them because there's a noticeable amount of space to reach in from below. I'm gonna have to do this I tried to jam my hand in and do this and it's a tough one. 3/6 done lol
Yowsa..!!! Awesome And Very Helpful Video (Aside)… Do You Have Any Videos Showing Nerds Like Me How To Be Uber Cool, Like YOU ARE..? You Are Definitely THAT, And So Was Your Video 😛 Thank You..!!!
I just had my plugs wires changed. no mounts need touched!! I guarantee it. !!!!!! I also cleaned mass air flow sensor. air temp Sensor throttle plate+ plugs wires in 1 hour!!!!!!! no mounts touched.!!!!!!!!
A car needs a new radiator cab. Because your radiator hoses collapse and that's from a bad radiator cap. I learned not the hard way. Also, be careful not mounting your engine too forward because we'll pull on the transline. You know, and hope them in your transmission will be leaking.
