Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self Winding 4600E/110A-B487 Vacheron Constantin Watch Review 

Well, I bought the date version a long time ago. 1. It doesn’t use the same movement as that of Cartier, etc. Those latter ones have two barrels. FiftySix has one barrel: Consistency; I have watches with two barrels: If the barrel drives independently: Inconsistency in accuracy between the 1st and the 2nd barrel. (On the other hand, Oris Cal. 400, e.g., is consistent as their two barrels drive at the same time!) 2. In this sense, we can say that the movement is exclusive to VC. 3. To respond to some comments: The accuracy is superior when compared to ETA movements (do not try to compare it to 2824 or Powermatic 80 (incomparable when your watches are two year old or more), compare it to 2893-2 top grade, and you will find that VC FiftySix is VERY accurate.) E.g. my Tag Heuer 2892-A2 is less accurate with similar usage. 4. Of course, I have many watches with ‘2893-2’ (two are Baume & Mercier's) or ‘Sellita SW300’ or ‘SW300 GMT version’ or Powermatic 80 (whether it be standard version or Nivachron version). 5. For finishing, I have Patek Philippe Calatrava, and I cannot say that my Calatrava (with 21-k gold rotor rim) is more elegant / beautiful than my FiftySix (with 22-k solid gold rotor.) 6. After five years of usage, it is still +/-2 second a day with respect to the atomic clock. 7. Do you know that the middle of VC FiftySix’s dial shines like an opal, which is adorable! 8. All in all, when fully wound / wear every other day, I believe it is as accurate as Rolex or Tudor, with 72 hour power reserve; more accurate than my PP.

If VC bothered to finish this movement to Geneva Seal standards, then no one could complain about this being a group movement. But the truth is that VC doesn’t finish this movement to its usual standard, which IS Geneva Seal.

In-house movement snobs might be the most overrated thing in watches. In Switzerland it is VERY COMMON practice to have a shared economy where some companies make movements, some companies make cases, etc. The only reason why there has been a push for in-house movements is because the bigger conglomerates bought the movement makers and stopped selling movements to the companies outside of their umbrella business (ETA for Swatch Group is an example).

This watch in my opinion personifies value proposition. it’s not cheap,but for sub 15k, it’s either this or a date-just 41.

It's a beautiful high horology piece. The hate from the Walmart people in the comments is rediculous, jealousy and envy are ugly traits.

Wow it looks better than it does on the website/pics. I am deciding between this and a date-just 41 jubilee white dial. I wish VC had a white dial on steel bracelet. But I might still get this in the upcoming week.

This watch is obviously marketed to a younger generation with less buying power, and price-cutting decisions had to be made on key areas of the watch to make it happen. I don't understand how that's a negative? If Vacheron were trying to sell this watch for Saxonia prices (£22k), then I'd understand the negativity. But this watch is competing against a Datejust and I'll tell you now, I'd rather put £11k down on this than a Datejust. I think it's a wise business decision from Vacheron and it seperates them from the ultra high-end unobtainable pieces from brands such as Lange, Patek and Audemars. From a long-term business standpoint, they really do need to convince the younger generation that their brand is worth investing in, and this is an excellent starter piece for a new collector. The question is though, the Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix or the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon? That's a difficult decision.

Also worth mentioning that the bracelet has pull-out micro adjustment on both sides of the clasp, same as on Overseas.

I think the market became so saturated with Rolex, Royal Oak and the Nautilus that everyone is bored and looking for anything different now, so VC is finally getting the recognition they deserve in the USA

At it's price tag, is a jlc master utra thin moon phase a better choice? Plus a exelent in house movement.

in series barrels are absolutely disgusting. Parallel barrels or an F91 has more class.

Looks like a VC with the dial of a Lorenz. The only VC I’d never buy.
