I have bought so many vacuum sealers!!! Many Foodsaver vacuum sealers from Costco. Usually one a year! As a family that prepares, I burned them up.
I finally broke down and bought a Weston Vacuum Sealer. A large investment, but I thought it was worth it, because all parts were supposed to be replaceable.
NOT!
So after a bad experience (over a year’s time - hear about our experience in the video) I decided I had had enough!
After research, I purchased an Avid Armor USV 32 Chamber, Ultra Series, Vacuum Sealer. Here is an unboxing, testing, and more to come!

I have the avid armor smaller unit and I love it. Same with me on Food Saver. They never lasted. My regular vacuum sealer is an LEM and it does great. Customer service is great with them.

Sorry Weston did that to you but glad you posted. Looking for a new Dehydrator so I WONT be buying a Weston. Sears did the same thing to me in a washing machine. Model discontinued. I still had 2 more years on warranty left (we did buy the extra warranty which was not cheap) & had they would only give me 25% off to purchase a brand new machine! We had to go from front loaded to top loader due to price! The customer service person could care less & did nothing to solve the issue under the warranty!

Congrats on the machine. You deserve it. VERY disappointing customer service on the Weston. That's certainly not how you retain customers or gain any more from word of mouth.

Same here!! I became so fed up with FoodSaver & machines similar to that!! Seems that they all have the same problem. The heater strip fails too prematurely, causing me to have to by a new one about every six months. I bought the Wevac CV10, a small unit because it's only me. But it works far better that those cheaper forward-suction units. You only get what you pay for!!!!

I thought FoodSaver had a 5 yr warranty. Guess the shipping charge may be a factor

Let us know how you do with packaging rice. I’ve found that about a quarter of the included Avid Armor bags when processing rice lose the vacuum and need to be re-processed. Thinking the bags are too thin for the rice grains and are punctured.😢

I saw on the avid armor site that they now have 4 ml bags in the large size but currently out of stock. It says that more are expected soon, and they will notify you when they get them.

I haven’t tried rice in them yet, but I have found that some things in regular vacuum seal bags will create leaks. I have found some success with lining the bag with a paper towel, or with putting the product in a paper bag before sealing. Maybe not the best answer, but if those are the bags you have, it might help.

@@VickiesCountryHome The OutOfAir brand are 7 layer, 4 mil bags with a 90 day satisfaction refund period, and a 1 year guarantee. Supposed to be cheaper, too.
