Vaillant F28 F54 fault code repair

2nd time I found your video and it got me out of trouble - many thanks for that! 1st time boiler wouldn't fire, had been idle for 3 months. 2nd time was after a replacement heat exchanger was fitted and we couldn't find out what was wrong. The banging sorted it!

The Vaillant boiler has started to periodically turn off with an F.28 error. It turns off about 4-5 times a day and needs to be restarted. It cannot ignite the flame on the first attempt, only on the second or third attempt. I called a technician, and he said that the pressure is below normal. I understand that he was referring to the water pressure. He did something and said that it should work now, but the boiler continues to turn off. However, the boiler does not turn off at night and works all night. Can you please suggest what it could be? What should I ask the technician to pay attention to during his next visit?

Trick worked for me. 10 years old boiler. It's happened first time ,just back after 10 days holidays. Wondering now should I change a valve or wait for another fault?

what does this tapping do? is it like old tellies, you gave it tap, and started showing pictures?

1. You need to have the hot water running (leave the hot tap turned on). 2. Press the ignite button. 3. Then do the tapping on the silver bits, (as the boiler tries to ignite) which he is blocking the view of. But you can see it for about 1/2 sec (1:39-1:41 in the video).

Thank You. 10 years old boiler. It works great again for over 2 weeks . How long will this last ?. Now that is working can I use this method as a prevention at every 5-6 months to "massage" the boiler a little for 1-2 minutes ?.😀 Or should I wait for the f28 error to return ?.

I hit super hard and broke a pipe. A huge hissing noise started and i had to turn off gas valve. Nuts

I think I need to stop fitting Vaillant’s. Had this fault so many times on New installs within a year.

La electro válvula está sucia, volverá a fallar, quite los 2 tornillos de la electro válvula ( la superior) más grande y limpie con limpia contactos y engrasando con spray 3 en 1 afloja tornillos. Montar y listo.

I've tried this and didn't work, don't know what I'm doing wrong but no shower for us tonight i think. We have an ecotec pro.. don't know exactly where to tap, which one is the gas valve...

I've changed dozens of GV's in these ecotec mk 2 boilers because they are garbage and vaillant know this but still fit them in the boilers.....!!!

I will never buy Valiant again. This gas valves are just crap I'm about to order 3rd in 8 years.

how are all you people knocking on the gas valve without taking the case off the boiler? you need to be gas safe registered to take the case off a boiler. if you are not you are breaking the law.
