2nd time I found your video and it got me out of trouble - many thanks for that! 1st time boiler wouldn't fire, had been idle for 3 months. 2nd time was after a replacement heat exchanger was fitted and we couldn't find out what was wrong. The banging sorted it!
What a waste of my time. How do you see the credit on the meter?! Seriously, I am not interested in what you are talking about. Its a waste of time, you can't change it. It is what it is. What I need to know is how much credit is on my meter and this this stupid thing can't tell me that.

how are all you people knocking on the gas valve without taking the case off the boiler? you need to be gas safe registered to take the case off a boiler. if you are not you are breaking the law.
Hi, it should be obvious from the disclaimer that a gas registered professional is required to carry this out. However we know in reality this will not always be the case. Jay K

Hey, If it doesn't work for you, you may have another fault. It may not work for everyone depending on the condition of the valve. Also sometimes it does take a while before it works. Jay K
I couldn't get the date and time on the thermostat to stick as the hub is missing. I followed this reset and repair procedure and now they are working together well without the hub and keeping the date and time. I will however need to manually adjust for daylight savings without the hub.
Hey, did you go through the pairing sequence? Also sometimes a simple uninstall of the app and reinstall sometimes does the trick to get things to refresh. Jay K.
Hi, There is always usually a valve unless it's an open vent system, or the filling valve is located elsewhere, as some boilers don't have a built in internal one. Jay K
Hi, the pressure coming out of your taps is not usually connected to your boiler unless you have limescale / other blockage. This is controlled by the incoming water supply, you may have an issue with the stop cock being maybe slightly closed or some other external problem. Jay K
Followed all steps but my hub won’t connect on the app? Does anyone have any solutions. Just keeps saying the hub can’t be paired. Thank you in advance.
Hi, you must use the original email address tied to the hub, this is hard coded. That is first step. If you have correctly tried same as video, perhaps change to standalone mode (see other video), check it works together, then try back to internet mode. Hope that works for you. JK
@@mikeb667 Hi, unfortunately due to bad design it cannot be removed. In the design first time the email is registered it becomes hardcoded into the device and cannot be removed. You have to actually purchase a new hub. Many users have been annoyed by this. Jay K.
@@MyBoiler I’ve spoken to a guy from Hive customer services and they’ve advised me to contact the guy who’s set the account up to delete his account and then they’ll talk me through how to set mine up to it.
@@mikeb667 Hi, that's interesting to know. They never said this was possible before, unless it's a newer type hub or something, also that we have stopped installing these a while back. Their previous way created a lot of wasted electronics. Jay K.

And what would be reason, when valve is energised I cannot move the valve freely and neither open it manually. But when de-energised I can manually open it.
Hi, it may be that the mechanism inside this stock if you're not able to do exactly as in the video in which case you would need to replace the head. hope that helps. JK
Hi, unfortunately that was intentional, as only qualified professional would know where to knock, as we have had cases of people unqualified causing gas leaks / damage by trying to follow this video and do it themselves. We hope you understand. 🤓 JK
Great video. Solved my problem in 5 minutes. I had previously spent several hours reading Hive instructions and other tips online to try to get my Hive receiver to connect to the thermostat after mysteriously disconnecting for no apparent reason after 3 years of perfect operation. These video's are useless. Taking the battery out and putting it back in and then resetting the box for it to re-connect means there wasnt anything wrong with peoples Hives in the first place! I cant believe some comments say they have bean struggling for ages to get their's working when, according to this video, all you neaded is to re-boot the things. My Hive is on a constant search mode. No matter what i do it wont work😢😢

Hi, I have followed your instructions and unfortunately my thermostat just keeps searching, do you have any other tips, I have followed each step both devices off, pink light, flashing Amber light, reset thermostat, it just won't pair. Its only 10 months old.
Hey, you should try again a few times, otherwise read the other user comments to see what else worked for people. Also possible the hub is not able to contact Hive servers. JK
Yes I have tried a few times and not successful, think it must be the reciever, I'll contact British gas who installed it all as it's still in warranty. Thank you for your help though.
I ‘inherited’ the hive system when I moved into my new house 4 years ago. I could not get it set up but was not aware that the previous owners had taken the hub with them. So…..I got a hub and still could not get it to work by using the hive manual. Saw this video today and thought I would give it a try…. Here I am now with everything connected to the app and all working well. I am feeling grateful to you for making it so straightforward - thank you. One happy 70 year old today!
