The Bible tells us that "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." I love the title of your picture "My heart is Happy." I am taking care of my elderly parents, and though it is alot of work and I am often exhausted, my heart too is happy. Thank you for this sweet video. Happy birthday Valerie!

Here's a tip when working with Lasagna Noodles ....After they cook, rinse them in cold water, it gets rid of the starch, and cools them down so you're able to touch them, without burning yourself! ....Besides, they'll heat back up once you put them in the oven!

When we needed work done in our old home we asked at Home Depot and Lowe’s what contractors they recommend. So far we’ve had painters, plumbers, electricians, carpet and floor people. No problems at all. See if that might help.

I love how toy celebrate every special occasion. I did this also in my younger days. All the improvements so far are absolutely beautiful. I cannot wait to see it all completed. Love how you and Tim interact. He is a gem Valerie he is a gem. I love how the simplest thing he shows how much he love YOU and the entire family. Valerie, did you know that you don't have to boil your noodles? I just rinse each noodle with hot tap water before I add it to the pan! Works every time!

Here in Australia we do not have to do anything to the lasagne sheets, just put them on top of the meat layer and they cook in the oven. Plus there was way too much cheese in that lasagne, not at all healthy.

@@loribillings3810 No your not crazy, they do taste different but you do not have to boil regular lasagne noodles if you put down a layer of tomato sauce first.

I loved the dipped pretzels. I'm going to see if my grandchildren would like to try making them. The room attached to Ganny's would make a nice sitting room for Granny when one of the boys leaves to go to college or gets married. I know that's years away, but the time goes by so fast. You blink and they are grown with their own lives.

Valerie a trick to not having foil stick to the cheese is spray foil with a little oil. Works everytime. Dinner looked delicious 😊

You can also get the noodles that you don’t have to cook. You just use them as is and they come out perfectly cooking in the sauce and other ingredients. Saves a lot of work and time.

Take it from Italian cooks. My mother, nana, aunts, and ancestors. Leave out the cottage cheese. Use the ricotta and eggs for filling along with mozzarella.

There are so many Lasagna recipes out there--I messed up layering the first time I made it years ago, but no one seemed to care because they loved it. You added the best ingredient--LOVE. My Mom who is 92 lives with us and she is eager to make the pretzels for Valentines Day! "Save me a plate!" 😋

Hi Valerie your recipe looks a lot like my recipe, I use 1/2 hamburger and 1/2 Italian sausage that combination gives it a wonderful taste. If you have any leftovers you can microwave the next day. I think the flavors are even more pronounced and taste even better the second day. This is a recipe you can make a day ahead and it taste wonderful and the pieces will stay well formed and easy to cut.

If you ever get chickens, you can save all those veggies scraps for them instead of throwing them away.You could actually put all the scrapes in a plastic bag and freeze them to save for soup!

For extra fluffy cupcakes….whip the eggs and water until it starts to foam up….then add the powdered cake mix. Finish mixing, then use a portion scooper, so all of your cupcakes are the same size. (It’s a lot neater, too!) Edit: Wow….frosted cupcakes AND sweet pretzels. How do you feel about adopting an “older” female?

Happy early birthday, Valerie! You’re making me hungry with all those sweets! I always like to do something special for my husband on Valentines Day. Heart shaped meatloaf with mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, corn casserole and something I haven’t tried yet….a Black Forest cake. Valerie, I made lasagna for dinner over Christmas and I looked for the no bake lasagna noodles but none were to be found. I researched google and you tube to see if I could use regular lasagna noodles without having to boil them in water first. Turns out you can! I assembled it all and baked for an hour covered, then twenty minutes to brown the cheese on top. Then I let it settle and lo and behold!! The noodles were cooked! Try it! I was always frustrated before I tried it this way, as the noodles would tear while boiling in water.

Yes, it’s a layer of sauce then noodles, meat, cheeses. Don’t buy that bagged shredded mozzarella. Loaded with preservatives to keep it from sticking together Buy regular mozzarella (BelGioioso) similar to fresh if u can’t get fresh Grate it yourself. Takes 5 minutes Best Jared sauce around is Rao’s but expensive. Much cheaper at box stores. Add some sauce to your layers as well These changes will make such a difference in ur lasagna! Garlic bread and salad looked great!
