To mark what would have been Alan Whicker's 100th Birthday, The Whickers Artistic Director, Jane Ray interviews Alan's partner in life and work, Valerie Kleeman.
I met the lovely Mr Whicker and his charming partner at Jersey Airport back in the mid-1990s (I was BA cabin crew) when I was standed for three days due to fog. They were both so charming. What a lovely kind man Alan Whicker was and Ms. Kleeman also delightful. Mr Whicker had taken Valerie off to the airport in his Rolls Royce :)
Alan Whicker is one of several people whom I have known come through sandhurst officer training, and as a result are officers and gentlemen to a fault. bless you
I'm here having just watched Whicker's War which Valerie very rightly calls a triumph. I'd had somehow missed it at the time of its transmission, but it was one of the most interesting war chronicles and amazing to know that footage I had been watching for years had been captured by Alan and his colleagues.
Valerie thank you Alan was blessed meeting you an intelligent girl. You are special brains not a snob and a giver Alan Whicker you were a lucky man Thanks Valerie. Ballet is similar to sport A brutal profession test ballet gives more happiness than sport as sport is about winners and loses
