All 4 radiators must be destroyed at the same time. Aim at the center of all 4. After the first shot, use an action command to check their health, all radiator health must be equally dropped. If you missed 1 radiator after the first shot, focus on that one to get it equal health to the other 3 radiators. Then SAVE. Then attempt your 2nd shot to destroy all 4 radiators at the same time.
You know I kept getting this weird feeling Riley was going to be turned into an Valkyrian from the Radiation coming from Angie. Also kind of disappointed that the main cast never really meat Belgar in person. Both of them have plenty reasons to hate the other. "You killed my father for his Research" "And He killed our Dream for You"
I just beat this today and that was the same thing I was thinking. All around this game was super good, but I was really let down that Riley didn’t ever really meet Belgar, especially after that one dramatic flashback.
Orders are a game changer. I beat the first valkyria chronicles with no orders and no saves. It was a he'll of an experience but I not patient these days. Great vid.
@@Baba-yv6ml sorry I mean no loads. I did save after I complete the level. But never saved during a level so if I failed I would start over or it things got tough think of strategy. I remember loosing some soldiers But the lever was so hard I had to let them go lol.
Took me about 15 minutes of blasting the tank over and over. All 3 cut scenes would pop and all the radiators would be destroyed but the mission wouldn't end, over and over. Finally I added a penetration order and it worked perfectly after two shots. Maybe this will help others.
2 tips save a before you do your orders make sure not to destroy a radiator before you get the others. you have to destroy all 4 at the same time or else you have to wait a few turns before you get another chance
Thank you for this extremely comprehensive video. Wish I could've finished this battle the way it was intended, but I just didn't quite have it in me to spend that much time on the game, however great it may be. I've cheesed the final boss, but I still am very much satisfied with the outcome.
@@sharpe3698 For VC1's final fight I just kept reloading saves and shooting lances at him, if I'm remembering the fight correctly. Did it take a while? Yes. Am I ashamed? Not at all lol. I found this strategy for VC4 in the Steam discussion forums after searching up "final boss" with some order differences, and I was laughing hysterically after I found it still worked. I agree with OP, I like this game but I didn't have it in me either after playing for so long.
Did the easy one using how the devs wanted me to do (escort Riley before 3 turns, bringing engineer and lancer with me, fixing the ladder, lancer going up and hit the radiator, playing tags with the big tank) all that being done in 5 turns, get A, good!! But that was such a pain lol Knowing that i had to do it all again but with Paragon on their side for the true ending, im really thankful that i found your guide, i could end it much easier and faster without having to spend so many efforts trying to redo the one that i did for my first try!! Thanks for the vid! Despite my best efforts/strategy I only manged a B rank and there was no way in hell I was gonna attempt this mission again so good to see it can be cheesed really easily! EDIT: Holy shit they want you to do this mission again, but harder, to get the true ending! Now I'm REALLY thankful this cheese works so well!
If you have the "Two Valkyria" DLC and don't mind playing dirty and losing some dignity then you can use best girl Selvaria and the order "Attack weak points" for an easy 4-5 turn victory.
Crap, it took me almost 18 turns. I was unlucky to lose Claude in the 7th tuns and losing the Cactus a few turns later. So had to have 3 lancers hop by foot and have at least 2 mortars close by as well as have my engineer hop on foot. Pretty nerve-wracking. Fortunately I also had two scouts because I didn't know that Belgar would call upon reinforcements once the radiators were taken out, so fortunately I had soldiers close by to take them out and methodically wipe out the radiators. This was a much harder mission compared to the Barious in the original Valkyria Chronicles.
I never had ANY trouble getting an A rank with any map but this, this thing. It Ded me. it does make me wounder how an attack the weakness order would work on it though.
Ok I see some failed to do this and I also was in there, then I found out why: the shot was off and missed out one of the radiators. So to pull this off you need to aim it to a tee right in the middle where it can hit all of the radiators at once
Amazing, I finished it in 12 or 13 turns because I ended up killing every enemy and covering both water formations with the engineers. Thank god I watched this video after finishing the game. Now, my tiers list!! Broken Tier: Grenadiers - Snipers Normal Tier: Scouts - Troopers Only-when-necessary Tier: Lancers - Engineers Ok, you can still Scout-rush parts of missions, but the only time scouts get to be Broken Tier is in the "Warehouse At Night" skirmish, where when buffed, can complete the mission in a single turn and, that way, farm 20k exp in 3-4 minutes.
Thanks for the wonderful video, I fail the 1st then I notice the left lower one I missed it and it have been lower down lock away, so I reload a safe file and aim higher and works
There is some bug in steam version. If you destroy all parts of boss in second turn then... boss is still alive and still spawns buged reinforcments (2-3 units on same spot, they can't shoot at you at that state). In third turn boss moves and respawn magicly one engine. Just follow him with APC and shoot him twice with grenadier. A rank, 3 turns.

TLDR; Blast boost is way better than I thought it was. I also think this might technically be an exploit? Since the side radiators are supposed to retract and deploy reinforcements when one is destroyed, meaning beating him faster than 4 turns should be impossible, unless you kill all of them at the same time. What's the minimum number of turns for A rank? I don't imagine it's lower than 4 for this reason.
I arrived at the same strat once I realized just how stupidly large of an AoE you get with Blast. Only difference with the way I did it is that I had Riley shoot at some poor sod before boarding the Centurion, just cuz.
I used Grenadiers for the whole game. Anti-tank or Anti-personnel. Connor probably had hundreds of kills. Just beat it yesterday. My favorite girl is Lily.
You know you don't even need to bring Riley to there. You just to destroy the tank and the mission considers that you did already bring Riley to her destination
@@Delahunta Well, not really. You aren't supposed to be able to kill Lophius faster than 4 turns, since the radiators retract when one is destroyed. This trick is an unintended interaction of Blast boost. This means that if you don't get Riley to her destination you time out before you can kill the lophius under normal circumstances.
Oh my god. After seeing this video. I feel i’m the dumbest person in the world. It’s took me like 10 to or 15 turn to complete. I wonder if I’m dumb or the game fault because somehow all of my orders are gone near few final chapter. Wonder if game bugs. And also i’m not good with what weapon is good for battle so I left everything in standard weapons.
*UPDATE / I DID IT* Basically the one thing that is kinda missing, Just always aim for the middle, not right at the top but just low in the middle, the first time you strike you'll see red turrets to bomb but don't lose focus, no matter what just keep bombing in the middle, got it on 2nd bomb PLEASE HELP ME I'm literally doing everything your doing in this video but I don't get a one hit killed... The best I get is up to 2nd dialogue reenforcements then my turns over and die. WHAT AM I NIT DOING Please help
Try to aim for the middle left and the middle right turret region of the tank. After your first shot, it destroys the middle turrets. So you need to manually aim for the same area. Then it should work for you from there. It has for me on multiple occasions
Yeah this didn't work at all and I did it to a T. My apc got pounded by mortars that stop it cold, and I can still only kill 2 radiators at a time, then it closes up and I can't damage the other ones at all.
destroyed all the rads at the same as same on this video, its really funny that tge intended script strory for it is to destroy it 1 by 1 not at the same time.
this level is just boring than hard it's like the marmota fight but more longer, just because they put obstacle to slow you down more than give you a challenge, then they have decide "hey, let repeat the same level and put more enemies!"
You need to destroy ALL the radiators together bro. Aim for the center of the tank with the mortar in order to hit them all instead of a single radiator
