Me: I’ve made so much progress on this mission. At this point nothing can stop me from completing it, not even a squadmate’s dea- Claudia: Dies Me: Aaaand we’re going back to square 1
And now I remember that your unit can actually die (Even Edy) in this game. Rescuing is my top priority when a ally is down. so I never truly see a death in my units
I always go offensive in this game, and nobody dies and when knocked out i always have a chance to save them, But when i saw selvaria, the only thing that pops up is just RUN, this bitch killed so many of my soldier
Every death is so sad here. I mean in other games it's usually "oh, I'm dying, give it to my love or something, get revenge, whatever" *dead* Right here every one have own reason to live, fight, like or dislike, backstory and personality.
Honestly a lot of these kinda hit with me. But I feel like Wendy's surprisingly hurts a lot. (7:18) Just... Being forced into this situation. Killing people, like every time they shoot someone. They're getting shot back. Dying a little more. Every time.
Patrick Woodruff it was militia in a small country this shit happens in real life like countries as small as belgium and stuff if youre willing to join youre enlisted
Patrick Woodruff This is the country that has the Nameless Squadron, who are basically there to commit war crimes for Gallia and take on impossible missions, which is basically filled with convicts. Makes Aisha's presence in Squad 7 less surprising. I think her bio says she volunteered and strings were pulled to let her in.
+Patrick Woodruff tiny country vs massive empire, with no support. if you ever play the game you'll realize that the empire was practically a few miles from the capital within less than a month. Children soldiers, though inhumane... does not become frowned upon in the end when you become desperate.
+Patrick Woodruff IIWW, Warsaw Uprising. Children fighting with pipes, stones, improvised weapons etc. alongside adults (bearing mainly the same equipment) versus nazis. These things already happened and have been really worse. Generally Gallia in VC1 resembles a bit Poland from 1939.
^ In WW2 Jewish Partisans that lived in ghettos or escaped from camps met up and formed their own small militias. Not nearly as OP as the Gallian (with fucking tanks. Is this really a citizen militia or a federally-funded militia like the National Guard?) militia but formidable using guerrilla tactics against the Nazis. Many were teenagers and females.
The ones that hurt me the most: *Montley -* That introspection at the last minute, chiding himself for his death, is really sad. *Juno -* Just the whole painfully unrequited love thing taken to a final tragic full stop. *Aika and Vyse -* I love these two and their little duo. Their last words being directed to each other hurts a lot. *Wavy and Yoko -* Their last words aren't about themselves but are of concern for everyone else. *Mica, Ramsey and Claudia -* Their dying sentiments are self-loathing, I mean, come on! *Aisha -* SHE WAS 12 *Walter -* Guy's a massive teddy bear. Seeing a sweetheart like him crying in fear of death is so brutal. *Dallas -* Honestly mostly just for the voice acting on this one. *Karl and Lynn -* Lynn's not here but these two lovers dying in fear and sadness of leaving the other behind hurts too. *Oscar -* He enlisted to protect his brother and when he dies, he's scared and needs his brother to protect him. Both 15! I never encountered most of these in my playthrough. I only lost Hannes in the first fight with Jaeger, which was oddly motivational. After that, I thankfully managed to beat the game without losing a single other member. Seeing them here is enlightening and kind of a relief. (That said, I did suffer a massacre in the first encounter with Selveria and witnessed a few of these there, but she beat me so badly that I had to restart the battle and this time I kept everyone alive (after a few tries))
You know, the first time I beat the game I didn't even know this was possible. Other than losing Zaka or Welkin I never lost anybody. Seeing all of these death scenes... some of em hurt.
I made it to final missions without losing anyone, but once I did, they all started dropping like flies. I was so upset cause when I went to save them, the shot my other squadmates down. 😢
Just like with FE games, for me it's taboo to lose a member, so I had to watch this to see their scenes. Even if it's the most unmemorable unit or someone as awesome as Jann, if I lose them, it's reload save time.
Napoleon 1st said: "We have to want to live, and know how to die." And damn, some of them really know how to die. Coby, Marina, Emile and Catherine have the best goodbye lines. Then you have cowards like Czeary or the angry ones like Noce or Theold. Then those who ask the others to continue, and the kids who don't really understand what is happening or are just sad.
The one that nearly made me cry was Coby. He'd fought with me in every mission from the beginning and died trying to rescue the princess. He took a few down with him though.
Theold I feel bad for. He went into the Lancer Corp for the glory that he could never get in his small town, to be the hero that everyone loved, and he got gunned down by the very tanks he was trained to fight.
Many of these deaths they are afraid that with them gone they won't be able to protect their comrades in arms. Not many of them cared about themselves save Cezary and Theold cause they were self-centered to begin with. While Noce hated Welkin he still cared for Alicia and worried for her, for Rosina, she hates the Darcsen squad mates but even though she hopes that her death will motivate them to get stronger.
Holy fuck Cherry's scream. I can actually imagine everyone in the recording studio just flinching given how blood curdling it is especially compared to her usual dialogue.
One mission that went really bad I lost about 3 squadmates who were downed at a really bad spot. I think it was the first mission you encounter Selvaria. I can't remember the other 2 but Ramona's line really hurted me. I wouldn't let anyone die like that again and I reloaded that save
One of the first units I lost after I promised to stop save scumming was Claudia. The AI decided to abuse the turn mechanic running infront of my tank to kill her. Started save scumming again after I got tired of dealing with the BS the game likes to pull. And don’t get me started on the Tokyo drifting tanks and super speed soldiers when you aren’t looking.
These are the only character development you are getting from these people. In the anime they go more in to them and from what you get in this game you can still get some enjoyement.Too bad you only these when they die or when they are recruited.
no if you unlock there potential you can get all the characters personal info bio about them. like how Jane was a florist before the war and the reason she hates the imps so much.
Just started playing this game a couple days back. To me, the one that hit the most was Oscar. My brother is the only family I got and I'd do anything to protect him even enlist as well if this was the reality in our time.
I can't find a video but wouldn't you get a different ending if you let Alicia die? After the first few levels, it's not required you let her live. Edit: OOOH! So they actually fall back. Like Zaka. Sorry, I never let them die.
I played recently and i knew of the permadeath mechanics and i swore myself NOT to save scum. in fact not to save for ANY battle. well... Selvaria took 3 people out when she barged into my exposed right flank. Tried two attempt at rescue, both failed. lost 3 people in that battle. i think i lost 6 people in total? honestly as bad as it is, is better NOT savescumming. i once knock myself out when a granade bounce on a tank inside a smokecloud, as soon as that tank moved i lost that scout. :( Marina is such a vibe xD Once you understand the game orderstacking Alicia because pretty OP. but that is not a good way to play imho..(especially if it consist of savescumming RNG)
Along with some of the first ones, Wendy's hit home ;-; 7:18 Edit: 13:49 is a runner-up though... Your luck's finally changed, instead of having to go through the pain of endlessly watching your allies get slaughtered as your psypathic commander sends them to their deaths, it's just you this time. The pain will stop soon enough. ;-; (15:35)
comrade redovich If all/most of your standard troops die in battle, you get the option to recruit generic Galian soldiers. They're there just to make sure that you can always choose a member of each soldier class to your team. William is one of such generic soldiers.
Boy, They sure talk a lot for someone dying; makes you wonder why the Imps don't have chatty corpses too. Their deaths are just too cheesy for me to feel any kind of remorse and I'm usually the sentimental type :/
