In the third episode of my Valley of Flowers Series, I am taking you on an exploration of the iconic Valley of Flowers in its complete glory. Perched at an altitude of 3300-3600m, Valley of Flowers is another name for the Bhyundar Valley, discovered (accidentally) by Frank Smythe and his friends in 1931 while coming back from Mount Kamet Expedition.
In order to reach Valley of Flowers, one must reach Ghangaria, a small hamlet situated at the height of 3050m, from Govindghat, after doing a trek of 14 km along the river banks of first Laxman Ganga and later Bhyundar or Pushpawati rivers. From Ghangaria it is a trek of around 3.5 Km one way to reach Valley of Flowers.
