I went ahead and ordered the Beyond because I can cancel anytime prior to them shipping the headset in Q3 or 4 just in case Deckard gets a release date. Slim chances of that but nice to know it’s an option just in case. Likely valve will make an announcement the day I receive my beyond. 🥴

Also buying the Beyond just so Valve will announce Deckard 😅

@@SadlyItsBradley I think that would be a mistake. It's very likely that the specs on the Apple device are ridiculous and extremely costly. Valve would then have to market their headset as the cheaper option while showing off lots of inferior stats... I think it's more likely they'll take a dump on Meta and show off their vastly superior hardware that way. Even more likely: They'll keep clear of both announcements because Valve is kinda small fry this time around... They're not competing with the tiny little Oculus crew, they're competing with Meta, the biggest BY FAR VR hardware and software manufacturer... When the index came out, Oculus was still small, not much bigger than Valve on the VR stage... Today, that's no longer even remotely the case. Meta has sold about 10x+ the amount of headsets Valve has sold.. And devs have largely abandoned PCVR.. And for games, Meta is said to have 30 games/apps to show off for their Q3... Valve has what? Are we finally getting Counter-Strike in VR? That would be their only obvious game.. Portal has proven to be pretty nauseating for a large majority.. So it's gonna be Counter-Strike, which is awesome... Pretty thin for a launch though.. Especially after realizing that the only game they made for the Index was Alyx... Seems reasonable to assume that the Deckard will also get ONE game.. Meanwhile we're all angry about the slim pickings on the PSVR2.. Valve is not in a great position right now outside the copium saturated bubble. VR as a whole is a bit shaky atm. Not sure Valve could do much to unshake it with their next 1000 dollar headset... In an era where the 550 dollar PSVR2 was WAY too high for the common man.. I fear for Valve's VR future..

Lol, this why i started hating valve. Such a cult. Literally everyone else has passthrough, eye-tracking and wireless pcvr now. Apple might even have that before Valve 😂

I really hope so, Currently using a Quest 2 for pcvr but really trying to hold out for the Deckard, in hopes that its going to be as great as when the index launched.

They need to announce a lot of software for Deckard to really make a splash. Once people remember that Valve supported their previous 1000 dollar VR rig with ONE SINGULAR GAME, the reality of their next headset being the same abandoned chunk of electronics might spook some people... Especially if Valve goes for a lot of custom hardware again, hardware no devs will waste their time developing for because Deckard users will be at most 10% of the PCVR playerbase by the end of the first year. The Q3 is coming out strong with a ton of apps/games(or so Meta claims). If Valve comes knocking with one game again, a lot of us will just laugh.. The Vita was supported infinitely more than the Index... Even the Dreamcast got more support than the Index. Hell, the Ouya even got more support.. How so many people stay loyal to a hardware manufacturer and game developer who abandoned their $1k hardware on day 2 is beyond me...
