I would like to see a steam deck dock with a dedicated GPU built in and have the console seat into it seamlessly like the Switch does. That would be a Switch killer IMO.
docks dont actually have any real hardware in them theyre basically usb hubs, that also have the ability to pass video, they dont actually have any processing power or anything like that, and also, the switch dock is... not the best. recently, my switch dock's usb c for the switch to plug into quite literally fell off
32gb ram 4tb ssd nvidia rtx 5090 superdeluxe version and 7800x3D or intel 15th if you don-t care but playing and both top cpus from intel and amd are beasts. Also a vrr 1080p is good enough, supermegamacroled qd miniled shit, and a layaout for using easily Windows, so no need for tinkering winth proton forks, launch settings and praise to the holy seven gods that the game works. Yeah Microsoft is evil, so are pretty much every international companies, soon enough there will be no countries but Amazon Kingdom, Microsoft republic, etc... who cares, does it run crysis? then let them burn them all
I don’t want the Steam Deck 2 to come out anytime soon. We all know Valve can’t count to 3 so whenever they do release a Steam Deck 2 I want it to be substantially better than the 1/1.5
I think Valve should definitely wait until it's clear what Nintendo intends to target with their next Switch/console. After that Valve should easily be able to release a next model which fits all the people who aren't looking for Nintendo exclusives but are still interested in an easy to use console - be it handheld or stationary.
Im Australian and got my Steam Deck new off of EBAY. Took 3 days to arrive and came with an international power adapter on account of it being set up for US power supply.
Me I still want my steam deck style controller. The one with 2 track pads and a d pad and two stick to replace my 360 controller. Honestly I see no reason for a steam deck 2 because most games still run. Even if the new hotness can't its what five or six games. I mean it still runs 75 percent of a person library.
Get so excited waiting for these videos haven’t got my deck yet but hope too around Black Friday. Recon you could tell us recommend accessories that you use case/ battery pack / cables ect ? Hope you get better soon enjoy the sofa gaming
I will admit the steamdeck chip is different but it wasn't made just for the steam deck the processor is in the magic leap 2, as the older steamdeck has a much bigger processor because it also has computer vision processing engine that takes up some die space it's not in the oled version of the chip, and it's deactivated on the original steamdeck or at least it's not in use.
Future models doesn't really mean entirely new models (i.e. SD2) Probably better iterations of the same just like other consoles do. Of course a new Steam Deck it's something we can see within the usual lifetime of a console 5-10 years
There is something wrong or some setting wrong if your Epic Store opens / is in task manager even if you tell it not to as I have it disabled and it is not doing what you describe.
Junk store won't sell on Steam though, they were "unsmart" to say the least and promoted their app publically on pirate threads on reddit. Several things they said violates multiple paragraphs of the agreements with Steam.
If I remember Valve said they want to do a steam controller 2 forgot why I think was they are very busy I think just not getting the time around it to do it right. Thats be a hardware Valve is missing big time atm next to console set top box.
Ofcourse they are working on Steam Deck 2.. but it can take years to release, especially if they working on custom chip again... so i would tone down the excitement for now... 🤷♂
I'm waiting for an AMD ARM CPU/GPU!! I'm sure that's 5 years in the future. I hope I'm wrong! If Apple can do it, so can AMD! That combo would be a true console killer!
If nintendo switch survive that long steam deck could do so and its been obvious that new hardware isn’t always “improved” look at the z1 extreme supposed to be the aerith killer and ended being a battery hungry chip and for that being said better performance at the cost of being stuck at the wall charger. Steam next hardware for me is the steam controller 2. They tested waters with the hori controller support and 100% this will be the next hardware till they can make a new chip but a better efficiency gpu to share loads, in the handheld hardware isn’t all about just power but balance !
i think now that steamOS is no longer shit (and lots of games run on it) it's way more likely to sell well. steam machines died because a handful of games ran on them and the UX sucked, both are no longer issues.
Yeah please stop making videos like this, trust there won't be a new Steam Deck 2 won't be out till at least 2027. I wouldn't be surprised if a Steam Machine came first
