I was feeling a bit rusty with my landings and decided to take the RV-12 out to practice some landings at Shelby-Cleveland Airport.
Disclaimer: I’m not an instructor. My video is only for sharing the experience of flying not for instruction.

I was out practicing emergency landing two weeks ago. If you act instantly when you pull the power, I was able to turn the RV12 180 degrees with a 280 foot drop in alt. Bank angle was 40 degrees with full flaps and air speed of 63 knots. Density alt was 4000 feet. I love my RV12! Thanks for your video.

I am very very grateful that you record all of this. If I may reiterate, the camera would probably be best fix mounted with just a tripod on top of the fuel tank. Again, thank you so very much for even going through the trouble.

My ideal is mounted just behind the pilot center, so you can see both the instruments and view. Helps for flight reviews.

Looks like a really fun plane to fly, man! I'm wanting to fly something a little more sporty than the old 172, and this looks like a great option. Now just gotta find one for rent! lol

Awesome plane. I just wish that more aircraft designs like this one placed the pilots head in front of the wing, or at least even with the leading edge. Instead most small plane designs put the pilot on the center of the wing. The DA-40 is the closet small aircraft I've seen to almost doing just that.

The first landing, it was awesome. Nailed it. Why did you wait until airborne to retract flaps from landing? I was taught retract as soon as you touch to give maximum friction with the runway. Make sure you’re down.

The helmet camera is making me queasy. Need a fixed mount instead, for your camera.

Can you pause this video for a minute, I need to get my Dramamine, cause the camera being mounted on your head is making me completely dizzy. What were you thinking? I thought these videos were for our benefit.
