I have met him last week and he's been my hero all my life and I'm 40 and let me tell you he didn't disappointed me. Soon as he came my way I politely stopped him and asked for a photo and he treated my like he knew me. I was really nervous and was trying to say to him how he was my hero and inspiration and he was so cool and we took a really sick photo. I will remember this day forever. That why I don't allow nobody to make fun of him in front of me. Van Damme is Hollywood royalty.
Van Damme is the kind of man that can inspire you to try and be healthy and fit for your entire life. These kinds of action stars don't exist anymore. He's also humble and charming, and this is what truly makes him timeless.
The funny thing, Jean Claude says he shows his body so in the future he can look back and tell the kids "Look how grandpa was!". I guess the kids would say "Grandpa, you're still ripped TODAY". He looks better at 50+ than me at 31.
He really was a handsome fella I may sound daft but I grew up without a dad and van damme was my idol and watching his movies kept me out of shit by starting karate and taekwondo so I respect him so much
I wish RU-vid had some audio controls built in. Like a stereo pan control (for situations like this). An option to "normalize" audio would be great too - so we wouldn't have to fiddle with volume settings video to video ... It would also eliminate "ear-rape". Oh, who am I kidding? This is RU-vid, they can't even get their basic shit together.
Wow, just looked up the movies they were referencing (Universal Soldier and Nowhere to Run). This was 20 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Could not have been hotter.
Thank you Jean Claude for giving me such a wonderful childhood which most of now days kids can only dream about. They're all on iPhones, tablets not present enough. You have been and you are still my hero and the epic fights you had with Belo Young in Blood sport or the final iconic fight from Cyborg gave me a wonderful power of imagination. Yes, I was picturing myself that I am like you in those fights and some pretty girls from my school are watching me :-)) I hope you were able to forgive yourself that you had also though years where you felt lost. It happens to all of us and I am so happy for you being alive and smiling because that's what you deserve.
You can just tell those 2 guys really like each other. Dang, I miss the Arsenio Hall Show! He was one of my fave talk show hosts. THANK YOU, Arsenio (5:13) !!!! ♥♥♥♥♥
To be fair, from all the interviews I've seen over the years, it seems like literally EVERYONE likes Van Damme and has a good time chatting with him. A genuinely decent, likable guy. And same can be said about Arsenio as well, I just realized.
I just commented on a JCVD interview, few videos back, on how he is such a humble and down to earth kinda person and bang he says it on 04:13 'down to earth'...he had such a great sense of humour on this show, he is a legend. There are a lot of iconic movies but... 'In Hell' was one of my favs.
Nellie K. Adaba I could be JCVD twin. I'm his age, I live in L.A., I come from Brussels and I am gaining more muscles everyday! And I love to laugh about myself! I like JCVD, he's a great inspiration.
Ingrid Bashor I'm from Brussels too. For now I live in the US (1994-present (age 13 up until age 33). I lived in Maryland from 1994-1999, then moved to NY. I also love to laugh. Nice to meet you. Have a great Labour Day weekend and week ahead.
Love at the beginning when Arsenio asked him about his lack of sleep, JCVD slips in "making my nose" Loved Bloodsport and all, but this guy needed help.
Two legends. Arsenio Hall is just awesome too, none of this PC crap, love how he tells the 'black' jokes about 'a brother' looking at his girl making sure she doesn't scream when JCVD takes his vest off!...so funny, I miss those times!!
What did happen to Van Damme? He left the Hollywood scene way too soon, and he's still a handsome looking man for his age. As far as I remember, he was a decent actor.
Yes he finally decided to clean up himself from coke and struggles with bipolar and family. He’s now making movies and has brought 2 of his children into his movies as well to start their career
I dont understand why somebody like him having so good things in his life to be with drogs god bless you vandamme. You are the most beautiful guy in the world in and out
Best Arsenio interview ever: Arsenio interviews Van Damme and when he cut to preview a clip of Van Damme's newest movie at the time, Arsenio instead shows the opening fight scene from Dolemite. They come back and Jean Claude is screaming "Das not my movie!!!! Das not my movie!!!"........priceless
I still can't believe that it was not only acceptable to come on a talk show looking like Lorenzo Lamas in Renegade but - judging by the reaction of the crowd - encouraged.
Funniest thing I heard is when Sylvester Stallone was on the "Howard Stern Show" and Howard asked Stallone how did he meet JCVD. Stallone said he was in the house watching TV and his wife called out to him from the Kitchen. His wife said, "Honey, it's a man in our drive way with tights on doing splits and throwing kicks." Stallone went outside to see who it was and he saw that it was JCVD. Stallone had sent for JCVD to come to his home to discuss a movie and JCVD was showing off his moves and that he had a lot of charisma. Stallone said that the JCVD was very passionate about doing a film and he saw the hunger in his eyes. He gave JCVD his agent's number and the rest is history. Still, could you imagine hearing a noise in your driveway and you open a blind to see someone in tights doing splits in your driveway. lmaoooo
@@leelunk8235 cyborg for my no top 10 1.) Lion heart 2) kick boxer 3.) blood sport) better tahan cyborg for me replicant, time cop, quest, In Hell good move in JCVD suden death
Sure Van Damme had his life struggles , but all of us do~ I liked him, I think he was and is a great talent~ And he just did not train in the Martial arts but went into tournaments also to test his skills~ So kudos to Van Damme
