Just bought the Fan-tastic Fan for the van it stopped working on our first camping trip. The company quickly shipped a replacement motor I had to replace myself. Here is the full Fan-tastic Fan Installation: • Sprinter Van Fantastic...
I appreciate your taking the time to post this video. Good quality too. Everything worked proper on mine (2000DMS) except the fan would not start. I searched for a wiring diagram but couldn't find any. Saw the part in your video about the pressure switch and figured that might be the culprit. Stuck my finger up there and worked the switch up and down. Fixed. Saved me from having to get on the roof. If it gets stuck again, at least I know where it's at and can clean it up properly.
I want to share my review of the Fantastic Vent 3350 because my experience with the fan is anything but fantastic. I bought mine 18 months ago, as friends, who have an older model, said it was very good. However mine makes a lot of noise and pushes so little air that I can barely tell if I have it set to exhaust or blow. If I turn it up to get more airflow it becomes even noiser! The rain sensor closes the vent at night so I can only assume that it senses the night time moisture and closes even though it is NOT raining. My friend's older model seems to push more air than my newer model. I get much better & quieter airflow from my little Sirocco fan and it was only $!60 not over $600. Dometic agreed to replace the fan and the airflow improved a little but it is still very noisy AND the rain sensor closes the fan at really odd times like late afternoon. So we can't use the fan unless we manually open the cover. So in summary, I have found it an appallingly poor performing fan that is just not worth the money.
I cleaned the rain sensor and the button top. Turned out just a loose ground going to that button. Thanks, I as about to order a new one. Works like new.
After 3 1/2 years of constant use the fan on/off plunger switch broke on mine .. gonna order the $12 part soon .. in the mean time I got my fan to work I just have to shut it off when the lid is closed or it keeps running
