I’m really glad he had a chance to be this version of himself again before he passed. To show everyone what he was capable of that hadn’t seen it before. True musical genius.
Van Halen did something else a lot of bands can't do,when Dave split and Sammy came on board they changed the sound to fit Sammy instead of trying to be van Halen without Dave they became van Halen with sammy
It's a disease.. a deep throat cancer.. deep.. nobody knows.. everybody could have it.. it happens, and he try and try, keep strong years by years.. As like as covid19.. everyone could got it.. God bless.. very nice, very good art.. bye Eddie, we love You.. let it be.. 😭
I spent that much on my latest Acustic Guitar, if you throw in the $125.00 Case & other: Guitar Strap,2 sets.of Strings & Tuner! But, if you were talking about Eddie, he was like the best ( they said) when I first heard him!!!
I fell in love with Van Halen clear back in 1978 when I was 14. I remember it like it was yesterday, yet it's hard to believe it's been that long ago- I'm now 58. Wow, where has the time gone? I will NEVER tire of VH- I've been through the Dave era and the Van Hagar era as they happened ( love them both) and they still remain one of my favorite bands to this day!! My generation is for sure the rock n'roll generation- we had the best of times , for sure and it never gets old! Even the younger generations love our music! Eddie is my favorite guitarist, his musical talent was truly BEYOND amazing and he could play that guitar like he was making love to it. The music flowed through him like sweet magic, he and his guitar became one. I cried watching this...hard to believe he is gone from this Earth. What a sad, sad day that was for sure but he will always be remembered and cherished forever!
Amen brother! Rolling stone magazine used to always say Jimmy Hendrix was the best...... When half of the time he couldn't even tune his own guitar. Eddie is the GOAT.
I have seen Van Halen 13 times in concert since 1988. This show here was the final one and one of my favorites. Thanks for the memories fellas... RIP Eddie
EVH was The Absolute Truth.. He Is One of The Greatest Innovators of Guitar.. He's a Slayer for Sure Just Love Em... Miss You My Most Awesome Musical Big Brotha.. Rest In Power Edward "Eddie" Van Halen 💖💖
Everyone was so in awe of his tapping technique - and rightly so - that sometimes we overlooked what an incredibly clean picking technique he had. Amazing. There will never be another one like him.
Life doesn’t seem fair sometimes. Like how Eddie could have been taken away from us way too soon. But then I think how lucky I am in life to have had Eddie hit the scene and play with such passion and fire and lit a fire under so many of us guitar players. Thank you for the music Eddie. Rest In Peace. You are SO missed!
so was Eddie. he never quit playing drums; he just said Al was BETTER. drums were the first instrument he taught Wolfgang. Even crazier, Al said he left all the songwriting to Ed, half implying that Edward at least sketched out the drum parts and Al would just flesh them out. Ed plays electronic drums on the bonus track "Crossing Over" with Al overdubbed on an acoustic kit. Ed played bass on all of the albums produced at 5150, then taught Mikey the grooves for their live shows. Consider that the band put out 10 consecutive platinum albums, a feat unmatched by anyone else, and Eddie was THE songwriter! No wonder Al said without Ed there is no Van Halen!
Van Halen and MTV practically raised me . As a budding musician they also were so intrinsic to my progress and deeply defined my childhood/preteen through teen years as a person. VH's 1984 album blew me away when it came out, and helped me through some very difficult years as a great distraction and kind of a soundtrack of my life during that time. Thank you so much Eddie for your HUGE impact upon guitar playing and to VH, music as a whole! You guys are phenomenal!
My first concert...VanHalen @ the old Civic Arena here in "Da' Burgh".Was 1982. Saw Him do this (almost) Exactly 30 years ago! Thank God,and God Bless Him...still rockin!!! My man
Eddie, the man, father, husband, friend, humanitarian, guitar God, Rock Hero, all around man's man will be forever missed and remembered! RIP EVH We all love and miss you!!!
Mind Blown...It`s beyond playing the guitar...It`s something else that only Eddie could encompass. Not really sure what it is... but it`s a force that goes somewhere beyond the norm
it's still amazing after all these years. When Eddie was playing Frankenstein, it was astounding. Now with the custom rig, it must be so easy for him after playing this solo set for 30+ years. Either way, having seen and heard him live several times, I applaud you EVH, for you are the Mozart and Beethoven of the guitar of this generation, as well as a cancer survivor and God knows how many parties. Love ya man!!
Cmon how does that still be fresh all these years later...1st concert Raleigh NC 1979.. 2 more times 1980 and 1983... Many videos and listens on LPs... Still blows my mind he invented and mastered the styling...an event in music only EVH was sent to do...
To the king of 10 fingers and six strings Edward Van Halen thank you for the music thank you for your performances and you're awesome guitar solos a mind-blowing dive bomb drops on that whammy bar of yours life will never be the same without you my friend we're so going to miss you rest in peace Edward Van Halen💔😢🎸🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎼🎼🎹🔥
God has a all star rock band now for the angels to witness. Eddie is one with his guitar. RIP you are Gods right hand man. I lost one of my heroes besides my mom.
My birthday is on March 30th I'm 61 grew up with a Eddie Van Halen listening to him definitely one of a kind ROCKon Eddie Eddie Van my name is Eddie to and I play guitar rest in peace May the gates of Heaven open up 4 you 🎸
Say what you want about the Cherone era, but he KILLED it on the III tour with Ed & Co in '97. MA also sang Somebody Call a Doctor, and hit this ungodly high vocal note that I'll never forget. These guys put on one HELL of a show, with the supporting act, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, getting a standing ovation for his band's set. Not a bad evening.
Absolute genius and very humble. Alot of famous people could and should learn from being humble. He understood his talent was from God and he appreciated it!
Before Eddie had past, he was looking forward to reuniting with Michael but obviously never happened. I'm saddened and still mourn for Eddie. I never got to see them in concert.
@@alexmar1382 It was just an informal idea, according to Wolf. Roth made his public comments about it before anything had even reached the this-is-really-gonna-happen stage. Wolf mentioned the name of the attorney in a recent interview who basically killed the idea before it had legs by screwing up the communication channel with Anthony. The idea was floated, but never finalized.
He doesn't have to give the money back. On his worst day he's 100 times better at what HE does than ANY of us will EVER be at ANYthing we EVER do. You think you could do better? Go do it. Whos' stopping you?
drby0788 I always ask people about Randy Rhoads or Eddie Van Halen and then there's a torch Lunch Home learning about what Knopfler anyway most people say Eddie / Randy butt they say they are equal but if they had to take
@@drby0788 Yeah, um, no. Ed improved guitar playing, design, amplification and musicality in more different and varied regards as much as any fellow human. Right up there if not beyond Les Paul, Leo Fender, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and the like. He was as close to Mozart, since Mozart. Your only lying to yourself, drby. The education is available should you choose to partake. It's a heck of a glorious ride. Peace to you my good man.
I have 2 favorite guitar players Eddie and David Gilmore..Eddie when playing always showed a huge smile and truly loved to play he had such energy and will sorely be missed I feel honored that I got to see him play twice
