Hey everyone! Few notes about the song! I love chugging down on those power chords during the verses! There is no guitar present in the studio recording during those parts. To make this a fun playable song, I approached it in a way that makes the whole song enjoyable to play. And I kept it simple as true as I could to the original recording. During those parts, I noticed after the video editing process that I changed up fingers while I was palm-muting the C5 chord. Because I was thinking ahead about having to use my pinky to accent on the same chord before switching to F5 and G5. Normally I form the C5 chord using index, ring, and pinky. Just a very minor thing I wanted to point out that I'm sure most of you will know the difference of anyway. Basically, I've tabbed out all of Eddie's guitar in the studio take and on top of that, added my own touch in other parts of the song where his guitar isn't present. All in an effort to make it an enjoyable song to play! And I tabbed out some of the keyboard parts as well for those who like to mess around with that kind of thing. Near the end. Enjoy!
"And I tabbed out some of the keyboard parts as well for those who like to mess around with that kind of thing"... Me... wow thankks a lot awesome tabs!
1- Your tabs are the most accurate on youtube 2- Your playing is superb 3- You share your tabs for free without having to go to Patreon to pay as others 4- Your choice of songs is fantastic (ar least for my taste) 5- The outfits and background are genious Thanks for making such a great channel. Cheers!
The guitars on the original recording are tuned roughly 3/4 of a whole step above standard pitch. The rhythm guitar actually plays through almost the entire song except for the intro, the guitar solo and the restatement of the intro after the keyboard solo. Eddie recorded all the guitars on this track with his vintage 1958 Gibson Flying V. I just completed this transcription of all the guitar parts on the album version of the song: drive.google.com/file/d/1woqewLqYbA6hBd8VIN_IATntu2B8yR4K/view?usp=drivesdk
@@PhpGtrI’m not sure what you mean by that, but I’ve correctly transcribed all the guitar parts for the entire song here which should answer any questions that you might have about exactly what Eddie played on the original recording: drive.google.com/file/d/1X0maQW7_AkH8ardJvyUHFQ8KvJ1KqPFt/view?usp=drivesdk
So cool that the song goes from a perfect C( no sharps and flats) to a 7 sharp on the solo and goes back chromatic to the C. That is nice music theory in such a easy listening song.
Best thing is that Eddie probably didn't notice or pay attention to the theory behind. Just pure creativity within that simple yet complex arrangement.
Such a technical solo in an otherwise very basic song. Almost seems like it really shouldn't be there. I don't doubt there were some arguments in the studio over that one. But, great job as always! Cheers!
I was literally just thinking about what a cool melody those little leads you did between the chugging are, and the voila you did this! Great minds think alike I suppose😆👊 Great job as usual and the solo was done very well Pat, thanks!
Lovin' what you do here on RU-vid. You put that extra touch into your videos (costumes, themed guitars, tabs, etc.) 🎸The extra time, effort and attention to detail is recognized and appreciated. 🙏 I would love to have a jam with you, but since I live abroad, I guess a RU-vid collaboration will have to fit the bill. Subscribed! 👍
Awesome rendition my friend! Any more than this would be over playing it. Great job love the videos, you make guitar learning so much easier. Thank you
Can see why uncle dime loved their songs. Been cool seeing exactly where the chords are. Thanks bro. Keep them coming in. Request: Wind cries Mary, cheers bro.
Every time I think to my self "god damn that song is awesome, I gotta learn it" Mr Tabs. is right there, playing to an insanely high level. You been to the crossroads, Mr Tabs?
Wow so funny I'm actually learning this song right now and actually had another video about the song up. Then I check my subscription feed and you release a Van Halen song, wonderful! Not only Van Halen, it is JUMP.
I'm just gonna say... As long as I've been on RU-vid, as many channels as I've subscribed to, unsubscribed from, etc... I've never had the urge to click the notification bell. In fact, I actively avoided it, and I hate RU-vidrs that start off their videos with "smash that like button and hit the bell cuz it really helps the channel, brah!" Gtfo. Just gonna say, I just clicked the notification bell on your channel. You're the first and so far only channel I've done that on. Thought I'd let you know.
Thanks brother great job I love Van Halen songs thanks for doing them man you need to do some more brother much love to you from Huntington West Virginia keep it up Mr tabs you are the man
