First time heading out Jumbo Creek FSR for the year! / forestyforest Merchandise: foresty-forest... Summit Map: drive.google.c... / strava / forestyforest
I can’t thank you Steve and Foresty enough for such great vids! You guys both live in such a beautiful part of the country. Time for me to move out of the GTA. The Leafs can’t catch a break either 😂🍻❤️
I hike the wilderness in the U.S. rockies with a Jack Russel and a chihuahua. My chihuahua is larger than my Jack and my Jack is larger than your Rocko. In the years I've been hiking with these dogs, I've never seen anyone hike with small dogs. Everyone only does these type hikes with large dogs, or try to. Unfortunately for them, they cannot ford the rivers with their large dogs. But we can simply carry ours over rapids and rocky scree. Like you, I hike solo mostly, but it's really nice to have canid companions for these adventures to share your experience with.
Agreed… right off the side slope crest there at maybe a 60 degree slope, on snow, with a dog in your jacket and camera gear. Unreal stuff. National Geographic needs to pay attention
You scare me in the windy conditions. Be safe out there. Thank you so much for all of the sacrifices you do to create wonderful done footage of the mountains. This is baby season for wild animals too so please keep Rocko close, especially in the dark. You Rock Forest!
You have to love watching a guy who lives in a van, has a sewing machine, and a cute and adorable dog named Rocko! I enjoyed seeing her ears when she was running with the GoPro on. Her little ears were flying, and she was having fun!
Foresty Forest on a Forestry road, Rocko is my favorite part of the show. She digs, and she runs, and has lots of fun, Then curled up in the van, as cute as a bun.
it is always good to see you whatever you are doing, cooking , climbing or just sitting and talking to us. Perhaps you do not know that you are the bright spots of my week many times. I can not drive anymore as my sight is not that good, but i can still see to work in the yard and and watch folks like you share the outside world on You Tube. Your little girl is one fast moving puppy. Nothing slows her down. I love to watch her go across downed trees, no fear there. She suits you perfectly.
Absolutely a stunning trek!! The drone footage really puts it all into perspective. It warms my heart knowing you have Rocko to be your side kick on these incredible hikes you do. Peace Love & adventure! ☀️😎🍻🐾
That was an interesting trip with the camera taking off on it's own. I'm glad that you were able to recover it. The weather made quite some changes! I thought that the snow blowing side wise must have been difficult to get through. I'm glad that you carried Rocko during that stuff. It looks like Rocko is getting bigger. Have have you noticed her weight gain? How big is she suppose to get?
She has finally gotten big enough to jump into the side door without help.. Hopefully shes about fully grown, getting hard carrying her up those slopes 😅
@@forestyforest After seeing one effortlessly hop up into the cab of a Freightliner, I came within a hair of getting a driving buddy. As much as I tried I couldn't convince myself that cooping such a high energy little feller up as I could out of nowhere be dispatched to longer haul 12-14hr days.
Pets are like advanced warning systems. What the hell is Rocko ruffin' at? Her eyes are locked onto something. Be careful out there buddy. Never let your guard down.
Foresty, I love the Rocko Cam! The insta 360 might solve your problem, it basically auto stabilizes because it captures everything. Might be worth a shot if you have one. Anyway, great video as always! I totally appreciate all the effort you put into making these videos!
Who would have thought that a Jack Russell terrier would make a awesome mountaineering dog. This lil girl just scoots up the woods. She is a total riot to watch. I just love these videos. I have been watching since the first van before you even built it out. Keep on going man. Awesome stuff
G,day Forrest, Rocko really is great mate, a great contribution to your already established excellent platform. The Rocko footage was fine, at one point she stopped to have a shake and the image remained perfectly level, maybe you can source a smaller camera, either which way, the Rocko footage adds another level of excellence and interest. Always epic Forrest, all the best regards from here on the West Coast side of Australia 🌏 Batavia Coast
Another video where I get vertigo just sitting here. The only way I won't get dizzy is if I make the climb myself. I guess it's a power and control thing. As always, thank you from the deprh of my heart and soul for taking us along with you. Godspeed, my Dear Lone Wolf.
Rocko has grown so much, but she still has that puppy look! Simon, every now and then I wonder why you do what you do. Climbing in that strong wind in the snow ... I dunno. You always err on the side of caution, so I'm glad of that. Thanks for sharing your adventure. It was neat to see y our foot trail along the tope of that mountain! Always exciting to see what you'll challenge next!
@phil veburst What does that mean? Get a life? Is she supposed to get the life you approve of? Keeping comments respectful means playing nice. Maggie’s life is probably just fine.
Let's RESPECT Mr. Foresty! The guy is as humble as it gets and i for one wish there were billions more like him. No need to bring poison, society has enough as is. Good day to all!
Foresty Forest (GOAT) and the ‘kid’ (baby GOAT) Rocko. Her go pro moment was a LOL! You hit the jackpot with her! Awesome climb, awesome food (love bison!) and a great way to start my day ! Thank you! 😛
I loved the Go-Pro video. I've wondered how things look from my own little dog's perspective, especially when we are on a trail. That gave me some idea. Please don't give up on the dog cam. There are small dog harnesses of various sizes. You should be able to find one that is a good fit.
I had to sing the Foresty jingle myself 😏… but that was another understated epic in many ways! Such a gnarly wind blown ascent and you still doubled up for the footage…and then standing on the ridge so close to those dodgy wind-blown seracs only visible from the drone view - yikes. Hope you are back to top health Simon.
*Starlink is a bit of a double-edged sword for me as well. On one hand, it's a game-changer if remote or you need to be able to work connected regularly, but on the other hand ,it might lead to spending more time online - rather than exploring the place where you are and living in the moment!* 👍
Nah....Just get some discipline! Being able to connect anytime, anywhere is something that will make remote adventuring a much safer game! ESPECIALLY for someone who risks life and limb everyday the way Foresty does! Starlink will be a game changer once established!
I follow this RV nomad, channel name Creativity RV, here on RU-vid and she just posted a review about Starlink. Very detailed. I suggest anyone interested should see her video before spending money on Starlink. However, it might be better in Canada. She is in the States. Other than following her, I have no affiliation. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vpHN1NFDFBo.html
12:05 Cool sewing machine. Come in handy if you need to stitch Or make something. My Grandmother had one of those she would sit there And make all sorts of stuff. I should have took the time to learn to use one also. :) Awesome video by the way.
Your footsteps across the ridge made for a great shot! Rocko the doggo cam captured the adorable ear flapping in both sight & sound which filled my cold, black heart with joy; thx for that! Stay disconnected 🙈🙉🙊🙃
This is so crazy listening to this guy doing great shots from any weather and any place humbly talking about other dudes making great footage. And all this from my bath tub. Nice Rocco cam BTW!
Foresty - 8 of us just got to Canada for our annual fishing trip today. We haven't been able to go with Covid for 2-years now. Beyond excited!! 8-grown men acting like we just spotted the ice cream truck down the block! Mosquitos are a little issue, but not terribly bad. Northern Minnesota and Canada are absolutely beautiful!!!👍👍
Your kitchen looks so cozy. After spending time outside hiking, a hearty meal is always a good thing. Thanks for the video. I never tire of the beautiful scenery and the info you provide. I plan on heading out west in my minivan camper next year.
What a fantastic video, errors and all which seem only to make it all the more intriguing. Glad to see you keeping you and Rocko safe while letting us follow along with your adventures. Thank you!
Hey Foresty forest amazing video I was a little worried about you and Rocco on the mountain I’m glad you made it down safe and sound beautiful incredible spot you and Rocco always make my day she is so cute so much fun to watch thanks for taking us along have fun and be safe🇺🇸♥️🐾🚐✌️☮️🌍🐾🇨🇦
So beautiful. 😊🐶 For the record, I didn't notice anything blurry at the beginning, only a small mic blip after the fortunate retrieval 🙃.. All footage as wonderful as ever and Rocko is as precious as ever... Run run run.. ...and sleep. 😊✌️❤️🌻🌿☘️🍀🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Another awesome video Foresty! Beautiful scenery, content, and wow, what a climb. Even right down to the music choice, very Ali Farka Touré like. Thanks Foresty for going out there and sharing your’s and Rocko’s adventures.
Was that summit as dangerous as it looked? It seemed like there was this huge snow overhang that maybe wasn’t visible from where you were standing. Rocko’s energy is amazing :-) it’s hard to believe it’s mid June already. Very short summer this year…
Damn man, you've become one helluva videographer/documentarian that National Geographic would be proud of! And that's on top of being a top notch adventurer/explorer. That's remarkable considering you have no "formal" training, at least that I'm aware of. Not going to lie, I get very anxious about Rocko maybe wandering off and getting lost even though you clearly would not let that happen. Still, it might be a good idea to fit her with a small GPS tracker just for added insurance (and "my" piece of mind. lol) Thanks for sharing what you do. You were obviously born for this.
LOVED Rocko's footage just the way it was....her excitement and playfulness energy came through crystal clear...her ears flopping as she bounded around...you should keep that camera for great transition footage ....Rocko's POV cam.
Are you ever afraid that Rocko might slip on those steep inclines and tumble down like your camera? My anxiety watching him climb up that steep icy slope had my butthole clenching.
Wow, spectacular episode. I was on the edge of my seat when you and rocker descended the glacier. Rocko cam? Yes! Shakey don't matter when with those adorable ears flapping around. Please add a little Rocko cam to every episode you can? Moresty Forest channel can have long uncut Rocko cam for the hard core dog lovers.
