Not that he isn't legendary. And not that he doesn't obviously backtrack for a shot sometime, but he is also very savvy. Take a drone shot and retrieve the easy way if the shot is incredibly difficult? Leave one of his several cameras and pick it up on the way back? It's certainly a tactic I would use if needed.
9:10 Seriously guys. This man set the camera up on such a sketchy spot just to share this moment with us. He had to climb back down just to get the cam! Cheers Simon! Thanks!
Yes the visuals are awe-inspiring. I wish these videos were available were available when I was overseas teaching English... but my era of teaching English was during Napster therefore pre-RU-vid. Rock on Forestry and thanks for all the hard work clearing the trails for future users.
Hey, just a small show of support. Really dig what you do and appreciate your talent with those majestic mountains. Totally inspiring me... Stay gold... T
This drone footage really brings out the beauty of Mount Bryce. Hope you are able to bag this peak next year. Thanks for the incredible footage! I have lived in Indiana for 32 years and have dreams of moving to the mountains! These videos bring me closer to them! 😃
Look for you every day, So happy when you have a video. They are never disappointing . Always admire your abilities. God Bless and that little puppy sure seems to enjoy everything
Man, those drone shots honestly made me tear up. Its silly how beautiful nature is and how much we take it for granted and mostly don't choose to experience it enough and let it heal and calm you. Instead we choose a concrete jungle of digital enslavement. You really live life and have so many awesome experiences. It inspires me to stop taking the world we live in for granted and actually choose to take it all in far more often.
Foresty, as far as RU-vid goes, your videos are, by far, the ones I look forward to the most.. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next video!
Jesus dude, those opening shots - the depth of field that you work with in a lot of your filming is just amazing. And yay for solar - even if it's just a wee bit!
Footage as always is good, but WOW, the drone footage is just unbeliveable beautiful! Footage combined with music just hit my soul with beauty. Thank you for this experience ❤🥰
Females not spaded are highly more likely to die from mammary tumors . We adopted a senior who had not been fixed until we got her. She died from the cancer 😟
@@Capecodham No need to get out of order with me over a post. Where are you going with this? If it is impossible for you to communicate with civility than go search for another victim. I am not your bitch.Feel me?
I can’t say this enough… the footage is second to none!!!! Should be selling images for things like film and puzzles and whatnot. I thought I saw Canada coast to coast as a trucker, but I’ve seen nothing!!!! Plus just a question to Forest, do you have plans on checking out the cabin you built in the woods?
Buddy, that drone footage was stunning! So much detail captured - was truly breathtaking. Always a happy moment when I see you've got a new video out, nice work on this one!
I admire how much clean up you do as you travel around. Rocko doing a great job! But you should probably get her spayed. Better for her overall health too. Oh, and the bears won't detect her either. Well, you didn't get to summit, but we still got great content and a great video. Thanks for sharing.
"Looks like I'll have to come back for round 3. Uhhh!" That's why I love ya, bro. Thank you for inspiring us all--your vanlife channel is the best and I don't know a close second. Foresty Forest rocks!
Every time you put in that piano music with the awesome footage of the mountains, I can feel the shivers going down my spine. Your Videos never cease to amaze me, keep it up FF
Just discovered your channel, thanks for taking me back. I went up the south face twice in the 80s. That was before they built the road into Rice Brook. It was a big day just getting to the base back then. On the first attempt, after camping in the valley bottom, we ran out of steam at the pinnacle at the top of the gulley. 2nd time we camped below the glacier and made it. Loved the drone shots.
I have no doubt that you will stand on the summit of Mount Bryce next year, since you appear to be the type of person who sets himself a goal and tenaciously works at it until success is achieved. It is a very admirable quality, indeed. The drone footage and those shots of sunrise on Mount Bryce were simply gorgeous! You are very fortunate to live in a place with so much natural beauty. Thanks for sharing it with us. I would like to hear in some future video how you select a particular route up a mountain before you start the climb. I have heard you say in several videos that you need to look up the "beta" for a specific mountain. I have no idea what beta is. I realize that a mountain will have several possible routes with varying degrees of difficulty, and I am curious about how you go about deciding which particular route you are going to use.
😳😮 OH MY GAWD…look at you GOOOOOOO!! My heart was RACING with some of those shots especially the crevasses. I even held my breath through most of this video. Those drone shots are beyond cinematic and made me feel like I was right there on that ice wall. I haven’t picked up an ice axe since 2012 so my hands were aching watching you do this. Dammit Mt. Bryce, Foresty Forest is making a comeback and you better be ready for him!! Take care of yourselves. Thank you for sharing. Cheering you on!! 🏔 🐾 🖤
"if a 2 ton Boulder comes down blocking your way out, good luck to ya" my thoughts exactly, biggest fear of going to far back on these FSRs but damn they're enticing 🐻
That zooming-out shot on the ice on the mountainside is absolutely amazing and awe-inspiring. The scale is just absolutely epic. It's awesome you share this stuff with people.
A HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL CLIMBING ADVENTURE, EXTENDED BY UR FABULOUS DRONE COVERAGE!!! GETTING AS FAR UP AS IS POSSIBLE, MISSING IN-THE-DARK BEAR ENCOUNTERS, NOT HAVING ROCCO PLUCKED BY AN EAGLE, NOT SLIPPING INTO A crevasse, and returning safely goes a long way in achieving a GR8 outing!!!
Un frickin real footage. And the fact that you made that hike, with all the camera equipment, your dog, etc. Scary stuff be safe! This channel should be 1m+ subs.
You continue to have the most awesome drone footage! Just beautiful stuff! Good thing you’re packing REWS (Rocko Early Warning System) with bears around. Great video! 👍👍👍👊😎
Simple soups while out camping are vastly improved in variety with the addition of V8 juice. Half V8, half beef or chicken stock seems to be the sweet spot for me.
Just amazing! That locale and especially the drone footage is breathtaking! Please stay safe, both you and Rocko! You are both such brave explorers, doing things almost no one else on this planet could do. Look forward to the next episode, as always.
Your camera work and editing as well as angles and narrative are really progressing and it has an aesthetic of dramatizing nature rather than yourself. I think you have a well honed talent here and you may be able to create opportunities with it. Sometimes its hours and effort -but in your case you take real joy in creation (it shows) -respect boss man
WHEN I SAW THIS FOOTAGE (AGAIN) I ALWAYS THINK TO MYSELF: HOLY MAMA, SIMON! YOU GOTTA TEAM UP WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC! YOU ARE AN AMAZING VIDEOGRAPHER AND I THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH FOR TAKING ME ON THIS JOURNEY. PLACES I'D NEVER SEE, FEELINGS I'D NEVER FEEL, BUT FOR THE FACT THAT YOU CARE ENOUGH TO FILM THIS BEAUTY. MUCH LOVE, JULIE 4/9/24
Yesss! Always feel great when I see a Forresty Forrest video posted less than an hour ago! Keep em coming! You are an inspiration to those wishing to be true to themselves. Love ya man! Your living my dream!
😊 Thanks for the ❤️! The monumental things you do to get these amazing shots for your videos doesn't go unnoticed ,my friend. I find myself wondering how many extra steps have been added to your already epic journeys ,for us the lucky viewers. Not to mention the time it must take to edit all of your beautiful footage together. I appreciate it greatly. Be sure to keep some time for You as well! Stay Healthy! Take Care!
Fantastic opening scenery, and this may well be my favorite video so far. Everything hits the check marks and no throw always. You keep improving with the video all the time, maybe you don’t see it like we do. Honestly I will watch this several times. A bit of rough territory for the van. Good thing you didn’t hit any sharp rocks. Love the chainsaw scenes, as simple as they were. Reminded me of my youth at our cabin at Red Deer Lake near Sudbury Ontario. I was an indentured servant and spent many hours cutting logs for firewood while my dad and uncle sampled a case of Red Tabs. There was a sense of satisfaction cutting up sections of log and the sound of the saw going. You must be just about out of room in your van. No way you could have all your essentials in the old minivan. Those waterfalls were beautiful and I would have spent an hour there easily. Your ascent up that steep terrain was a little scary. It’s a good thing you presurvey and carefully plan your attack. Anyone with lesser skills and not as broadly experienced as you would not be able to do that. Staying out alone for 5 days sounds like heaven to me, but I think not everyone is as comfortable with their own company as you are. And that is a major contribution to your success out in the mountains. Roco fulfills many needs but I was uneasy thinking about her getting face to face with that black bear. It’s a bit dodgy you hiking in the dark with her. You almost wouldn’t see anything silent until it was in your face. I don’t see you taking other precautions than maybe a can of bear spray that you could hopefully draw like a six gun shooter if you had to. Perhaps Roco keeps a keener sense than you of other animals close by, but I wouldn’t bank on it. A good point about her being in heat and who knows what it might tempt in the wild. I keep worrying about mountain lions taking an interest in her or even you for that matter. Your pretty scrawny and they get dangerous. Your soup looked awesome. A good pot of that will keep you going. I think I would pull out the trusty slow cooker and make a big serving and let it simmer away, especially now that you have some more amp hours. Honestly Foresty these were spectacular scenes. It must be difficult arranging the camera on your own to get these shots. Hope your AC doesn’t torture you too badly.
I always respect climbers/hikers who know when to quit. I’ve pushed myself to the limit before and got into some crazy situations. Now that I am older and wiser I appreciate seeing people who have learned that lesson and who promote it as a sensible option.
For the first time in watching your videos, I had a "nope!" moment. When you were zooming out from where you were situated near the ice, that was an immediate "nope!" for me.
So close Yet so far. I am certain you will eventually conquer Mt Bryce ...... Regardless if you summit or not , Love your Video's. Outstanding Drone footage. You always know how to find the Silver Lining.......
10:48 and end montage is an amazing capture. Love to see some of your stuff on a big screen someday somehow! 10:48 looks like there are enormous blocks of ice waiting to break off and crash down!
Thank you for what you do. I have a wife and kids and can not find the time to go on the kind of adventures you do. Just being able to see the mountains and experience the freedom through you is amazing. Keep up the good work!
That drone footage is fantastic! I’ve wondered a few times how many bear encounters you’ve had, this one seemed to be exceptionally close. Ever had to use your bear spray?
