Good for you. ! I too am Ex military and have the same F U attitude to life. Live yours for you not for others. I have recently bought a van and am waiting for it to come back to me from being upgraded and then I will be out and about as much as possible. I enjoy watching your video's as they show things without all the fancy bells and whistles and pretentiousness others seem to think is wanted. Long may they continue. !

Good on you mate. Love it. Currently fixing up my T4, and liks you, I’ll be going back to van life as and how it suits us. Weekends, weeks away, longer if there are adventures to be had. I’ll keep an eye out for Nemo on the road.

Hi, We bought a new transit custom two years ago, as we retired, it's orange, black wheels , black roof and is called Nemo😂. Just returned from our 3rd 3 month trip into Europe 90%+ wild camping, its so much easier over there, nobody minds where park up.

Not for the faint hearted I think peoples hearts have to be in it I think home will always be in the back of my mind I think it could be quite expensive easy option fast food good you have a job rather then back handed jobs great life if you can hack it on the plus side lovely views and the freedom must be wonderful bit more thinking on my part I think 😊 but you go for it and enjoy your life 😊

Thanks for the video content, its appreciated. As a former serviceman (me too) vanlife should really be a doddle. May i suggest keeping your park up locations 'quiet' and dont broadcast the stealthy van life in a bright orange vw, mabe the grey man approach could be better long term. If we let negative comments dictate your life. we wouldn't do anything. 6 days is probably long enough to find the areas to improve for future adventures.

Two weeks ago I had to go to a different office to work for a couple of days. So took the van, I am not brave enough to stealth camp but one evening I got a campsite for £11.with ehu. I loved being able to jump in the van and totally chill in my happy place.

Was at Clevedon last Autumn in my campervan, it seems to be another town of little to do and mundane lives, i spent an evening at the Wetherspoons which wasn`t a bad one. I`m in the fortunate position of being comfortable enough to return to my home when i need to. But i prefer once or twice a year driving down to Northern Spain and Portugal, where wild camping is more acceptable by their lovely coastlines and beaches and more welcoming people.

Local lad I see, lovely around here and great for van life, same as you im a weekender but have tried a bit of week van life least I know if everything goes wrong im happy in my van hahaha

Last park up was a bit naughty, as there is no overnight parking there. As far as I know, no one checks though and I have only heard of one person who got pulled up for it and they were taking the mick by staying there for days at a time. Also, watch out for the doggers after dark ! If you do go there again though, try the chip shop in Backwell just up the road !

Question when you go for a shower Do you have to do use the gym equipment like go exercising if you use the gym shower I have a shower in my van, always making a mess with water I’d like to do something like that, but I get anxiety and worried about going to new places

Staying in a van full time for 6 days - which is what you did - is called camping. Which anyone can do. LIVING in a van, as in 365 days a year, is not possible in the UK, unless you have traveller status. Without a permanent residential address, DVLA will not validate your driving license. With no license, you can’t drive a van. Insurance companies will also not touch you. Using a friend or family members address is frowned upon by DVLA, but many people do it anyway if they are lucky enough to know somebody who will accept that risk, and it IS a risk, if you get into debt you can blacklist their address and make them vulnerable to debt collectors. Also: It’s illegal to sleep in a vehicle on a public road unless you are a professional driver with mandatory rest breaks for safety, or if you are parked in a designating rest area that specifically allows overnight parking. Also also: Camp sites only allow you to stay for several weeks in a year within their chains. As well as that, the government is pushing all campsites to crack down on converted campers, soon none will accept them. Also also also: Many town and city councils are now forbidding camper vans to park up in their public car parks overnight. Even Scotland is restricting wild camping in vans. Plus it’s not an easy life. You have to find showers wherever you can. You have to use public toilets pretty much all the time. You have to use laundrettes and somehow store all your clothes, food, belongings in the van with you. You have to cope with condensation and sub zero temperatures. You have to cope with lack of sleep. You become scruffy and start to smell bad. Without an address, if you get sick you are screwed, as doctors and dentists will not register you, meaning you have to find your way to the nearest A&E. You can try living in a van full time, but sooner or later you’re going to come unstuck. The longest I’ve lasted was 4 months.

So many questions after this (as always) great video. Feel free to ignore my nosiness, but what's your military background? Also, you do a job before your day job.......what's all that about!? 😂
