Very helpful video, thanks mate Im wanting interior living space so i can still travel in bad weather but am torn between a normal 4wd wagon and towing a small camper trailer or building a troopy. Tbh, the price would honestly come pretty close by the time you do the roof conversion and wheel track correction etc. Such a tough choice 🤔
Don't believe all the hype you read about track correction. I've had my troopy for 12 years and it handles anything I throw at it. Fraser Island and Vic high country being a recent trips. One disclaimer....if 80-90% of your 4 wheeling is done on soft sands then spend the money. Get the troopy and use it for a year. If you think you need it then, go for it.
Considered it but even they are limited to where they can go. Most have Low clearance and smaller wheels so they can probably go up the beach as long as the sand isn’t too soft and but many 4WD tracks would be out of the question
I tried with a lifted T6 Kombi (Transporter) and you can get some way into 4WD tracks/beaches, but they are still quite low, relative to a proper 4WD. I now own a Troopy with an AluCab/Hercules conversion RTT.
