In a class all by himself. If I was on a deserted island and could only choose one musical artist to listen to it would be Van Morrison. Deeply, profoundly in touch.
If van just kept on singing his past music, that would be enough for us!!! However He keeps the choice wine through the end!!! And creates more joy!!! Thank you Lord for creating him!!!
Although I can’t always understand/ hear the lyrics, VM moves me. Did ye get healed is my alltime favourite VM song. When I was a teenager, I used to dance and workout with my mom to her jazz records and she played me music and let me listen to her favourite songs. Sometimes when we were talking and she wanted to tell me something, she decided to let a song speak for her when she thought that was a better way to express her feelings or her message for me. I think I was 17 and totally heartbroken. And through my sobbing, she put on Did ye get healed, got me out of my chair and started to sway with me. While the song was playing she was hugging me and singing along softly in my ears to comfort me. It helped then and it still helps. This song is a true broken heart mender ❤
This song surely has healed me from many troubles the spirit does move me to higher ground with inspiration from God this song I enjoy listening to every day van Morrison is surely gifted in the of love of GOD. Peace be with you .
How can I not comment? Most in the music business hit their high point and then disappear. Van just keeps getting better through the years. Thanks for the post.
Just watched the film Belfast with soundtrac0k by VM and was reminded how incredibly gifted he is. Love these two tracks and so glad I have seen him live
He certainly is a bloody genius! My favorite part of this performance is at 6:25 when he plays the first few notes to Did You Get Healed. He appears as though he's testing out the sax and then turns and glances at the band which wasn't ready to keep up with him. I would pay to see that look on Sir Van's face!
This is such an incredible document. We've all heard legendary audio of this period, with great IAITHG and DYGH's, but to have the video. Love the the two-shot of Van & Georgie i.e., 7:18
This is the best arrangements with video lessons live of this two songs. I don't know why nobody of my country, Italia, listen Van. Ragazzi SVEGLIA! E che cazzo
7:18, Van moves his arm and the drummer starts hitting the snare drum hard on the beat, rather that the rim or block. That simple gesture shows his command of his music, what he wants, and how to get his band to go with him. Love that simple tempo change.
Beautiful and deep songs! Van portrays the game that is life, with its successes, its eŕros, committed throughout it. The success is happiness, joy; the mistake is the sadness, the disillusionment, but the most important thing about it is that God gives us the opportunity to heal and move forward, with the hope of new possibilities. Congratulations for this espetacular music!👍👏🏻👏🏻♥️♥️
Oh, brother. Seriously with that saccharine nonsense? Your 'comment,' if you can even call it that, is no more than a meaningless collection of nauseating cliches no self-respecting discount greeting card company would even consider. If Van Morrison were here he would with all relish smack your head and tell you to never try to comment on this music again. Save that drivel for your Justin Bieber collection.
Like I struck gold that's how I came up on this song although I heard this before but not this version... there's not a woman that can not fall in love with him
A night in San Francisco: 1) Did ye get Healed?? 2) Lonely avenue/ 4 o'clock in the moring; 3) I'll take care of you/ It's a man's word: vimeo.com/287754048
ehehhee... io sono un fans di Van, ma il sax dovrebbe evitare di suonarlo, o almeno di fare assoli. Spesso scambia il sax come l'armonica a bocca. comunque Grande, grandissimo Van! Mito.
