@@Kitkatrey even if you could sit on it while it's in the box, which looks super uncomfortable seeing as it sits lower than the top of the box, you still need to take the couch apart to get to it. It would have been so easy to put it on a drawer slide.

Hey Alison! No showers in this van. With Canada being so darn cold (freezing from November to May), it's hard to have a shower and running water. Most vanlifers will have a portable shower (like it's the case for us), or will use campgrounds.

​@@vanlifesagas Hi :-) Hmmm..change..no not really. The design you have is the now 'new look -standard' you know the ceiling .. counter..entry..bed ect. Its what has become 'the' look for 'vanlife' as seen on youtube. I noticed that even a year ago there were many variations DIY versions but it seems that most try to imitate most parts or build different just cause of lack of time , space( minivan) or funds but seems that most would prefer ...this look and feel. either in fixed bed version or dinette version. But almost all layouts i have seen last months either professional or diy pretty much aim for the VanLifeSaga's look, Trent & Allie look(fixed shower) or for those that go for full luxury comfort add the pumps / water reheaters/ electronics..home cinemascreens/projectors.. but still aim for the same look and feel of the layout. So id say nothing to change on this one. If you were redoing a new build... maybe some little cosmetic things .. you know from experience what works out well and what becomes a constant hassle real fast... Most things i might want to add would be added extras / build in... with the mind set of one function = ok...two functions = GOOD but have something be 3 things=gold. But i think i wrote a long text on your Instagram account some time ago. Little things .. like the counter part by the driverside seat.. make it a double.. 2 layers ..secont slide out layer doesnt need to be big .. just enough to fold out or slide from underneath the counter for workspace ..so that you dont have to lean towards the counter .. but can have it come to you in the seat.. Cause its a fixed bed setup... you could lower the height just a bit so that you can split the matras in half .. and have the back fold up to create a couch without hitting your head on the ceiling.. thats almost a 6ft couch!! .. without having your feet dangle...but the 10cm height lowering wont kill too much storage space.. Not that you have to ..but then a fixed bed becomes 2 things ...well 3 adding storage.. so Gold.. when you want you could.. I would definitely consider putting in a shower/wc slide out.. i send you some cardboard model pics on Instagram once i think ..hihi.. When not in use it only used one cabinet and 15-20cm depth along the kitchen wall..and makes a nice place to glue a spice rack against .. But its just nice to have an enclosed sealed self contained shower/wc that you can just push away.. Cause i think a lack of shower and toilet option still is a bit of a taboo that no one want to talk about .. But im babbling on... Id say there isnt much to change on an already good layout. I guess you could focus then on what else could you do with the 'shape' .. popouts .. fold ins.. unexpected neat hidden multi purpose things. Like a double counter top ..3 cabinets ..one counter top.. with another counter top cut in 3 parts that slide out like drawers.. hollow them out for weight .. but just nice to extend the counter as much as needed .. and where needed... .. Like i said .. little neat things .. without changing the look/feel/ .. but added multipurpose dynamic.. Then you get dinette mode/ bed mode/ company coming over mode / both working online mode/ kitchen big cooking prep mode / travel mode.. all in the same design... Like a ancient Japanese puzzle box ... for fun :-) Also you could smuggle about 30% more upper cabinet space if you design the cabinets like an modern train or airplane design... Curved... the bottom of the cabinet does not have to be square! and there doesnt need to be a sharp edge... If you vurve a single layer of plywood in a lazy S with add a bit of epoxy ..it cuts a bit off the edge .. but you can curve the bottom toward the wall... it adds a lot more storage space , especially for clothing ...cause everyone rolls the tshirts anyway...hihih.. The curved plywood is strong enough to hold on curve.strength..added epoxy makes it almost unbreakable.. and just need to add airplane style ribs underneath.. just cut the doors after. Anyway... I could talk all day... you know me... happens alllllll the time.. lol For the shower thing ..check the Instagram chat.. I really think thats a nice and diy doable thing. in wood or fiberglass .. also nice to have and offer in any design as long as it not permanently IN the Way. I mean out of any two people ..one will have more of a privacy issue than the other ... why not provide a solution..lol Good fun guys!

@@vanlifesagas oh ... if you do a bed / matras fold up to couch .. then just make it 60% /40% ..60 seat..40 back fold up.. that makes it also useful for a single persone.. the 60% couch .. is then also a nice wide single bed and when the back is folded up .. it creates an extra height in the storage area by the back doors to store gear/ bikes ( cause of handle bars) .. whatever... but then you can offer it to both consumer groups .. the single ..outdoor sport type .. or the couple that wants to travel to see the sights... The extra hooks on the ladder for surfboards is just such an example to appeal to a larger group of potential users.. options.. Maybe a simple diy hack .. but i saw u use a board to cover the sink.. Apply same idea to the top of the drawers! ... in the same finish as the countertops... each cabinet has a upper drawer... if it was covered.. that might be usefull in the kitchen or stuff... so you can have extra counterspace.. but if you dont want .. size the board in such a way that it goes underneath the cutlery box or something when stored.. or vertical slotted in between the cabinets itself...when you want it .. pull it from in between the cabinets..place ontop of drwer.. tadaaaa... L or T shaped countertop...lol . hihih..you should know better than to get me all thinking about 'what ifs'... hihi lol. now ya got me up all night again .. :-)

Good question: all the cabinets and ceiling are secured with big and long metal rods directly into the truck’s frame. It should withstand several thousand pounds, yes. But then again, check out the crash test video of some commercial RV’s out there: everything breaks into pieces on impact. Like the rest of the car, basically.

Good question! Most campgrounds will let you fill up for free, gas stations often have water stations as well.

That's actually a very good recommendation! Might have to consider that! Smart! But, some customers don't what the toilet when renting, so they just like to store more things in there.

@@vanlifesagas but many come with brackets to mount on sliding tray or you can remove if they don't want to rent with the toilet inside.

​@@vanlifesagas I've got the point. Maybe you're right. But I think drawer is much more userfull than top load box. To use top load box, customer needs to grab the cushions, put them aside, then lift the lid, then try to dig something in the bowels of this box. If the customer do not want a toilett, you can just put foldable box, or any box (plywood, for example) into the drawer. Just like that. And they will have the same storage space with easier access. Anyway, I love both of your vans. You, guys, are amazing people!
