She is 60?WOW,looks 40,smart brave lady.Sad women have to face so many dangers, like being attacked at work.Wish we could live in a world where we women don't have to always look over our shoulders for danger.
I'm Peter and my 87 year old Italian mom and i learned from you and your authentic story and journey. You can come to find extra rest anytime you are near. Loved you van and how You've decorated your home just beautifully. Would love to craft with you sometime. God bless you and your children and those grandkids who LOVE your vanlife! ❤ Peter and Mom
I felt your tears. Just followed your channel from both of my accounts. I'll be 63 and just starting out in my little van. Haven't take a trip yet. I took early retirement too. I am glad you found that community to feel like you belong and are on a path of healing.

"I don't care if you're 25 years old, you don't have tomorrow." True wisdom. Thank you for being real and sharing your adventures with us! May God bless and Mary keep you ❤.
Representation and diversity matters to me, and I love seeing my black melaninated family take to the road and embrace van life. I really felt Shelby and her story. And I'm so happy that she is pursuing her dream and finding community out on the open road.
Most definitely! And just as importantly these women accepted me for who I naturally am! I believe in this lifestyle a feeling of community helps calm the fears and ease the anxiety 😊 Thank you ❤
People matter to me. Shelby came across as a very sweet and intelligent woman. In my country we have many different races and we live together harmoniously despite cultural differences. Representation and diversity is a crock that instills and perpetuates division and victim hood. I don’t know why Americans do this. I know you were being kind but if I was Shelby I would be irked to read your comment. There is absolutely no reason why she should not do what everyone else could do if they wished nor should she be congratulated for having done it when based on the colour of her skin she is an anomaly for having done so. I could choose to feel less because of my skin colour but I don’t make that choice. You can tell that I believe DEI to be the evil force to societal destruction. None of us are less.
@@bernicehorne3827 It's okay when white people constantly celebrate "beautiful blue eyed blondes." That diversity is natural to them and therefore completely acceptable. It's irksome for black people to be told how to think and feel but you feel entitled to do so anyway. No wonder you think equity and inclusion are evil.
@@bernicehorne3827 all the original comment said essentially is that they're happy they can see someone like themselves do something they want to do as well, if that makes you feel like a division is being created and that this alleged division perpetuates victimhood then the reasoning behind that is something only you can answer to yourself. consider taking YOURSELF and your grossly underdeveloped ideas less seriously, nobody wants to hear them.
What a lovely person Shel is!! So genuine, such a decent and kind person. I'm glad she found her place and a community of like minded people. So sad that she had to endure injuries. And I know what she means about working for agencies when you yourself can't afford the services they provide to others. There's such an imbalance of income and resources in our world.

I'm 59 till November. I've learned to be careful who you share your plans and dreams. You are a grown intelligent woman. You know what will make your heart smile. Live your travel dreams until you want different. I'm proud of all of you who make a life that looks like you.
🎉🎉🎉I lived on my own for a while ,and when it was time to pay the rent which was expensive as heck,I literally had panic attacks Everytime,I was like ,there must be something better than that,so that's when I began my #vanlife, sure there are some expenses but waking up and living #rentfree is the bestest feeling ever 🎉🎉🎉
This post is something that got me back to my dream plan. Now I’m putting my best foot forward to do it now. No more excuses. No more. THANKS YOU SO VERY MUCH. SINCERELY APPRECIATE YOUR POSTS

This video made me so happy. I'm a 66yo introvert who isn't quite at the point of making the move, but I do wonder about my ability to make friends out there. Thank you! This was so reassuring.

Your opening reminded me of a conversation with my good friend - 30 years ago. LOL At the time, we were having a blast every December helping my brother sell Christmas trees on a corner lot. Between sales, we hung out in a van drinking beer, playing cards and games, etc. I was planning to start house hunting that spring when I looked around and told my friend, “You know… if put a loft bed right there, I could hang my clothes here, and put a counter here and…” Feigning disbelief, my friend cried out, “Oh my God! She’s going to live in a van!” I always was ahead of my time. LOL

Enjoy your life. Be accountable to you and God. That's it. You will never be alone because there are other's walking in your shoes. Life is what you make of it and, I feel the peace and joy, you have, finally found.❤ Heather Ontario 🇨🇦
Shelby...you have inspired me! Trying to get things in gear to hit the road. Your message really spoke to me. Thank you. And thank you Jan. You make a difference in so many lives.

Just like your T-shirt says you are beautiful and I love your color choices and your van setup! I'm so sorry for the trauma you went through. You are an overcomer. ❤️
I’m so excited for you! Apprehension is a normal part of the journey…allow yourself to feel what you feel and organically move through the process. Congratulations!🤗 Thank you ❤
She’s such a sweetheart. My heart. Went out to you with your tears. You are a beautiful and celebrated purposeful Sista and will most definitely subscribe.
This is beautiful. I'm 35 and the deeper i get into my womanhood, the greater appreciation I develop for older women who are liberated. I love to see this. What a lovely spirit 🖤
LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing your story. I'm 60 too and I am doing the same thing starting next year. ENJOY your life - you have more than paid your dues.
Protect your Peace..I felt that when you started tearing up. And what you said about retiring and sitting in a box...I have been watching Vanlife for a long time now..and I do dream of doing this...

You are such an inspiration! Congratulations on your new chapter in life! Enjoy every moment of every day. Sending you light, love, peace, joy and abundance always. I love you.
I send you lots of love. I am sixty too and on government pension so I understand where you are at. I love that you are strong enough to follow your dreams. God bless you.
Girl .. I totally know what ya talking about .. Pain hurts .. 😢 And getting out into God's World, heals our souls !! Love, prayers and hugs Shell ❤ .. Looking forward to meeting you one day .. Safe travels .. God bless you and your family !!
Oh my Lord (happy Easter btw)! Your words put my feelings out there precisely! I am making my way slowly in your direction. I too, cannot sit in a box languishing, in a place I don't belong. You women are my missing tribe. JAN, I didn't join the FB group yet because of some "stalky" issues I've had But I will subscribe to both of your channels! I think if you and I had a conversation, you might be the only one who "gets" me. I was attacked and robbed while doing my photography on Waikiki Beach. I won't go into it here, but it changed me, and to fully reclaim myself, I just need to close this chapter of my life and move on. The logistics make leaving Oahu complicated. I'm transferring or more likely relinquishing a subsidized condo unit. I need to be free to work, and I just can't do that here. All I think about is, "can I still do this after all I've been through?" Anyway, you reassured me. I feel like if I had no choice, I wouldn't hesitate. On one level I do, and another level I don't. I love your van and look forward to checking out your channel. And another great video tour Jan.😊 much aloha to both of you.
Michelle, I am so grateful to have found your video! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful van interior. I love all your great ideas for outfitting your home. Hearing your story has further encouraged me to make a plan to get out on the road! I’m 62, took early retirement last September, and have experienced some major life changes over the past several years (divorce, relo to a new state). I desperately need to develop my tribe and community! I love to travel/road-trips, the great outdoors, and this lifestyle is certain to heal my loneliness. I loved what you said about not wanting to spend time within four walls watching tv. To be around likeminded people is just what the doctor ordered! Lol
Thank you for sharing Shell's story and a tour of her van. I subscribed to her channel. I always love hearing about other women out there like us. So thankful too for the resources we have out there now. Have a blessed and wonderful week.

Honestly, age should not be a factor. Living a life of activity, nature and a supportive environment is probably better than anything else both mentally and physically! I hope you’re able to adventure out even if it’s nearby! Thank you❤

What a beautiful lady doing what she loves. And there is no guarantee of tomorrow. Keep on keepin' on. Hope to meet you and many others when I'm able to get out there.
You bring calm to me. It's almost healing that i feel and a sense of community I'm lacking. I journey with you and others in my thoughts and my dreams. Bless you and all. Peter and my awesome 87 year old mom.❤❤❤
