mate I would get some rubber matting for the floor, its what I have used and works well. might hide some of the flaws. reputation is everything, and some people don't care about theirs.
What a mess they made of the ply lining. The only solution is to either put a carpet or artificial turf on top which will hide the floor. I would of kicked of big style but I’m not as patient as you are lol. Stay safe and keep on grafting !!
Glad it’s somewhat resolved for you Mike, not the best of jobs but better than what was in it previously. At least you can move forward now and sort yourself as and when 👍🏼
You've been more than patient. That really is a hack job, the ply riding over the top of the old screws is just laughable. If the work carried out by yourself was of this standard you'd soon be looking for a new client base. Surely having pre-cut pieces to fit that model and year would be the sensible solution....but still if you have chimps fitting it then what can you do? I'd also sort that gearbox out pronto.
That ply lining is a joke....I've had my van 10 years now Mike and when I got it it was the ply lining and racking that sold it to me.....the company that fitted it was a Lincoln company called van ply services and I only know that because they put a fancy badge in the back.......meeting the customers needs is more important Thant meeting targets as we all know .
As a Landscape gardener of 20+years I've always hated using vans,, I tow a box trailer which for me is far superior. I also have a tipper trailer(ifor Williams, both).. The finish of the ply lining in the back of that Ford is disgraceful.. You can tell its been rushed,, the silicone they've used around the arches, disgraceful.. Oh, and the Stihl stuff, I used Stihl for 15 years, till they became stupidly expensive, both to buy+service.. I now run Tanaka+Makita entirely..The quality is as good, but the price to buy them is 30/40% cheaper,, plus the service costs are the same...
Hi mate don't usually comment on any videos only watch them but I work for a Vauxhall van dealership and we put loads of gearboxes in them I suspect that is your problem, we change all the bearings we've done shed loads.
If its still in the three years warranty you will be ok Vauxhall's should pay but it's just the hassle for you, our lads do them in their sleep now we do that many, its basically a gearbox overhaul bearings etc one lad takes it out and another strips in down and rebuilds
Hey mike. I've decided to give up this line of work too stressful for me being self employed, going back to my original job. I've got a few clients that will need work doing (fencing and turfing) do you want me to recommend you to them or are you too busy mate?
